We went in to wish Diane's Parlor a Happy 20th Anniversary. The ambiance and feel was happy with balloons and glitter signs on each table. We had two of the specials and could not have had a better meal. The Beer was cold the Wine was good, but the service was outstanding. We wish everyone visiting Silver City could get a chance to taste Diane's food.

After waiting over an hour for our food, it was served at different times (four people in our party), and some of it was served cold. When we asked to speak with the manager, we were told she was too busy. Food not good enough to return. Disappointing experience.

Diane's was recommended to us ahead of a recent visit to Silver City, New Mexico as a reliable restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. Our general experience was fine and included an earnest and friendly waiter who happened to be a student at the local university. The food was, as advertised, of decent quality and all went well until the bill was presented. I had selected the "special" which was presented by our waiter as an option but without a cost attached. I had little concern in that regard as the entire menu displayed the modest prices commensurate with the location in a small and remote New Mexican town. When the bill was offered, my "special", a 6oz filet was charged out at exactly twice the cost of any other entree at $44.00. While I assumed that it was a mistake of course it turned out it was not and I had no recourse as there was not a manager on the premises. The lesson was clearly to look beyond the context of the region and the restaurant itself and not assume that entrees were priced fairly and proportionally. The disappointment spoiled the evening and the visit for us as the buyer beware concept trumped all other during the visit to this pleasant small town.

Was recommended by a "local" to come here. Wonderful food and ambiance. Had some "comfort food" by having the meatloaf. Delicious!
