Our family visits Gatlinburg several times a year. The Space Needle has made noticable improvements. Even though the building is older, it is allot cleaner than the same time last year. There are more new games and there are more prizes that can be won. We will keep going back.

we thought it was good. good views from the top. yes the building is a little old & only one elevator is working but it is totally stable & not scary in any way. they also offer a 50% military discount so say if you are. also, the binocular stands at the top will just take your quarters so dont even try. just enjoy the view from the top. we recommend going up at dusk so you can enjoy both daytime & nightime views. worth the $10 bucks.

My family and I go to Gatlinburg each year...at least twice. We always go for the New Year's fireworks show from the Space Needle that is incredible, the area's best party.!
We just got back and we were amazed at the changes made to the Space Needle. ...'bout time!!! The tower has been painted and new lighting added. The arcade was rearranged with tons of new games and new ticket station. The redemption area had awesome prizes and the arcade itself is the biggest in the area.
They are remodeling the front of the building, bathrooms (cleaner than years past), etc. and the view can't be beat.
We had an awesome time and will definately recommend to our friends. The kids had a great time!!!

The Space Needle seems old and rickety, but I was glad we went up in it. The elevator did not load all the way when it arrived at the bottom for us to get in. They put us in the back side elevator which worked fine; although I was hesitant so an employee volunteered to ride up with us to prove it was safe. The price is a little less than $10 per person but you get two rides on the same day--kept your receipt. I would recommend going up in the morning, especially if you are not happy about heights. In the daytime you are able to focus on the beautiful mountains around you that are up higher than you. At night, you only can focus down, down, down on the streets. It's not as pretty as the daytime, you won't have time for your second ride free, and if you don't like heights you look down too much at night. The platform at the top does move as others walk on it. If this bothers you, stay closer to the elevator base---it is solid there. You can stay up as long as you want. The game room at the base of the Space Needle is the largest in Gatlinburg that we saw, and we were in quite a few. There are public bathrooms (in the back in the pool table room) but they were really dirty and should only be used in an emergency! They also had lazer tag for $6 per person for ten minutes. I even played with my son and husband! It's a smaller inside course but it was kind of fun.
