Mpingo Ridge is truly a wonderful and immersive experience. The tents are well-spaced and private, and the accommodations are comfortable and almost excessively spacious. The staff were attentive and friendly. The laundry service was timely, accurate, and much appreciated.

The food was delicious, but not strongly influenced by local flavors, a minor detractor.

Pendo is a wonderful masseuse, intuitive and responsive to guest input- the best of all three masseuses amongst Nanyukie, Mpingo Ridge, and Kuria Hills.

Hassan, Lemala’s primary guide for night drives in the park, was very fun and informative.

Room tip: Do the night drive and bring your own strong torches.

Those views -- wow! On the same trip we went to both Tarangire and Serengeti NPs and the views from Mpingo Ridge over Tarangire were truly a differentiating experience. The accommodations and food were excellent, and the staff was attentive, knowledgeable and also gave you just the right amount of space to enjoy your trip. Our driver Steven was extremely knowledgeable and engaging and made each day a different experience from the one before! Special thanks to Dennis, Greg and all of the staff. One of the best trips we've ever been on!

Lemala Mpingo Ridge was our first Safari night stay and it did not disappoint. Our room was beautiful and the views at the Ridge are amazing but what made the trip was the staff. By the time we left we felt like family. Thank you Good Luck and Team! Highly recommend this property if you are doing a Safari in Tarangire National Park.

When my husband and I arrived at Mpingo Ridge, we were warmly welcomed by the manager and several staff members who showed us the beautiful main lodge with its spectacular view overlooking Tarangire Park. Then we were taken to our lovely spacious "tent", beautifully appointed inside with a huge bed and sitting area as well as a bathroom with double sinks, a large bathtub, huge shower and private toilet "closet". The view from our balcony was amazing - and included both a lovely tub and a corner shower - the latter which I used daily while admiring the view!
Guided by our wonderful and knowledgeable guide Michael (from Maps Edge) we had threee glorious days to explore. It was overwhelming how many wonderful animals we saw while immersed in this beautiful park. Each morning we ran into our "traffic jam" of zebras meandering down the road! We saw so many animals (and birds!) including tiny dikdik, graceful impala, wildebeest, buffalos, huge herds of elephants (I expecially loved seeing so many young "toto" elephants!) , monkeys and ostriches as well as many other birds - all close enough for me to capture on my cell phone camera! One high point was seeing a large pride of lion lazing about near a lake after a kill and closeby a pair of lion resting in a tree - looking like bookends with their tail-ends facing each other!
Back at the lodge – mornings started with a delicious breakfast buffet supplemented by eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage or whatever else you might want to fire up your energy to begin the day! Lunches and dinners were equally as delicious – and best of all our very friendly and solicitous waiters always offered us a choice of a meat, fish or vegetable main course! Being somewhat of a “foodie”, I was blown away by the talents of the Mpingo Ridge chef and thanked him profusely.
I can’t speak highly enough of this lodge and park – as well as our Maps Edge safari organizers. Our guide Michael was such delightful company as well as being so knowledgeable about the animals and particularly about rare and exotic birds! I can’t wait to return to Tanzania – and especially to this beautiful park and wonderful lodge!

Room tip: The lodge is situated on a high ridge - and all rooms overlook the ridge so they all have amazing views.
