Our family had booked two rooms at the Maria Heritage Homestay for a total of 4 nights.

This had to be one of our best holidays in terms of relaxation and feeling one with nature. The resort is very well maintained and is very clean and comfortable. The house is modern yet designed to reflect a traditional Kerela house with a centre courtyard, dining area and living area and four rooms on each corner of the house (Three on the ground level and one in level one).

The rooms are spacious and each of the rooms had it's own balcony that allowed access to the gardens. Given we visited in summer, it was great to have air conditioning in all the bedrooms.

Throughout our stay, we were treated with great hospitality by the manager Rema and her dedicated team. We enjoyed traditional Kerela breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked by Raju and served by Vineeta. The meals were absolutely delicious and we could not have asked for more in terms of quality and quantity......completely satisfied with each meal.

We also appreciated the airport pick up and drop off and the sightseeing tours arranged by Rema. Our driver, Abhilash was very courteous and took the time to ensure we had a good experience. Nice smooth ride with no honking. Really appreciated this.

Given this homestay is located 20kms away from Allepy, it is closer enough to get to the houseboats and city centre, yet far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of village life.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to enjoy traditional Kerela cuisine and lifestyle in a comfortable and hospitable setting.

Look forward to visiting this place again in the future.

Thanks Rema for evening you had done for us to ensure an absolutely fantastic and relaxed holiday.

Peaceful home stay at the bank of a peaceful canal. Beautifully built, lovingly served. Delicious traditional food. Our family had enjoyed everyday of our stay, we celebrated Onam, Kerala´s traditional festival with their family.

Had a great time with family here. You can never go wrong with this. The place is cozy and quiet. Spacious enough for large families, private enough for quiet moments too. The home is comfortable and with traditional decor. The manager and her team made us feel so welcome and took care of all our needs. The food is excellent. My son and daughter in law are from the US and the home cooked fresh food did wonders for all of us. The common areas were good too. The property overlooks the canal. Its great to watch all kinds of birds right outside.
A great big thank you to the manager and her efficient team. Would surely comeback again.

Room Tip: I would like to give a five star rating. The options are quirky on the phones keyboard. Overall its...

We had 3 delux rooms very comfortable with nice sit out area. The staff were very hospitable and it felt just like home. Its is a large well decorated house with antique furniture and green surrounding on the banks of river Pullincullu. We enjoyed home cooked food made to our requests and tastes. Also they made arrangements for a ceremony we wanted at a nearby temple.

After 6 weeks of travelling around India have to say this was the nicest place we have stayed to date. The communal meals were exceptional as was the service. The house is full of beautiful furniture and garden is perfect. I cannot recommend highly enough, Only criticism was that we took the canoe trip to the backwaters but quite honestly we were just taken along a narrow channel that ran along the street to a more open stretch of water and other guests had just travelled on the main stretch where the public ferry runs so would suggest you don't take this option. But the homestay is to perfection.
