The location is near the beach enough for us to get a good walk. The only problem here is the room. I am not sure about the other rooms but the room we had was a bit disappointing. Definitely it needs renovation and upgrade. It looks good on the outside but not inside.

Room tip: Hotel rooms are too old and not clean enough.

I stayed here for my first week of three in Bali. I really had no idea what to expect in Bali, but this location was a perfect place to start exploring. There is every kind of store and restaurant within easy walking distance, even considering I have a bad leg. Bintang Supermarket where you can get real groceries is just a couple of blocks away. The beach was about a 15 minute (probably 10 for most people) walk and there are several beach restaurants there. Taxis are abundant and incredibly cheap. Follow advice, though, and make sure they start the meter immediately.

At the hotel.... the pool was really nice and the grounds were well-kept. Breakfast is included and they have a small menu for you to choose from. It's nothing to write home about, but it's good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. When I let reception know that the cleaners had twice thrown away half-full bottled water, they apologized sincerely and it didn't happen again. In addition to the included breakfasts, you can order food throughout the day and into the night from a very reasonably-priced menu. For such a small little food counter (it's not even really a kitchen) they really can make a great variety. I ordered bbq ribs one night and they were great. Another night I tried the fried chicken and it was just a bit bland for my taste, but juicy.

The downside is that the rooms are quite rundown and need some serious updating. That being said, all but one day I had hot water, the fridge and tv worked well, and the bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi always had a strong signal also, and the property was very quiet and relaxing. I think this was a great value for the money.

The location and pool area were good, but we only stayed here for 3 nights yet had to change rooms after our first night (something we've never done before) due to a cockroach crawling out from the back of the bed late at night, crawling over my face and then disappearing. We ended up pulling the sheets of this bed in search for the cockroach, which lead to us realising just how unclean the bedding and room was. Needless to say it was difficult enough to get back to sleep after this, plus the noises the two geckos behind the cabinet were making didn't help. It felt as though our room had been cleaned and made up for us a few days before we had arrived, giving the local wildlife time to settle in before we got chance to. The annoying thing is that there's nothing to stop this happening due to the massive gaps at the top and bottom of your bungalow door, meaning all sorts can easily crawl into your room. Due to this, staff need to thoroughly clean rooms out the morning that guests arrive, but it's quite obvious that this doesn't happen and rooms are only given a quick going over.

We changed rooms but unfortunately this didn't help the problem. There was dozens of mosquitos and flies in the room due to a broken mosquito mesh, and again we had a cockroach crawl into our bed and then disappear. We've stayed in many hotels around SEA (most of the much cheaper than this one) yet this it the only time we've had such a problem with cockroaches.

The staff at this place were also disappointing. We've stayed in about 5 hotels over Indonesia and this is the only time the staff have been unwelcoming, unfriendly, generally disinterested and just sit about not doing anything. The breakfast was quite nice, but the soup we had for tea one night was awful. The eating areas were also constantly covered in ants and other bugs, and keep an eye on your food/drink if you're sat in the tables underneath the vine fence thing because this is the most ridiculous place to have tables as there is always insects dropping from above you. There was also only a few chairs/loungers around the pool, so they can be quite difficult to get hold of.

Overall we would definitely not come back to this hotel.

Clean hotel, welcoming staff, hotel in need of major repairs, mouldy, damp, smelling room. Seedy atmosphere, but excellent location. Other guests noisy late at night, clean pool, only stayed for the day whilst waiting for a late flight , would have checked out otherwise. Kettle in kitchen, but no power points, large gas bottle under kitchen cabinet for portable cooker, ? Safety aspect of this, cupboards in kitchen, bathroom almost rotten . There are major holes in the roof, and upper landing ceilings unsightly, and ? Safety aspect

We were extremely disappointed with our stay here. The staff appear not to care about the general tidiness or cleanliness of the place.

During our stay there were hardly any guests in the hotel and dozens of staff members simply sat around with nothing to do, chatting loudly. As we arrived through the door, we saw this and they barely acknowledged us or helped us with our bags or even directed us to check in desk (which is slightly hidden from view). This gives a very poor first impression and an impression that didn't change throughout our stay. Whilst it's ok for staff to sit and chat, maybe a bit more professionalism wouldn't go amiss and also when there are bits of rubbish laying around, you'd expect staff would clear this away given there was nothing else for them to do.

The rooms were dated and dirty, the sheets had stains on them and holes in. The wallpaper was falling off in parts and the mosquito mesh keeping mosquitos out had a huge hole in, therefore did little to keep out the hundreds of mosquitos. The gaps under the doors are so big that bugs can easily crawl under, I've previously stayed in a bamboo hut in a village in Indonesia and that had less wildlife roaming around.

The first night we were here a cockroach crawled out from behind the bed and walked over my girlfriends head, she was less than pleased, whilst I don't necessarily believe cockroaches are a sign of uncleanliness (they can be found even in clean hotel rooms) this did show that the staff don't pay attention to cleaning the smaller details like under the bed. They did let us move rooms however no apology for this.

Positives: pool was good and well maintained, pancakes were nice, wifi was above average for SE Asia, room has a bath (not the cleanest), air con is excellent and TV had HBO.

Overall this was really disappointing and not good value for money. Me and my girlfriend spent double what we would normally spend (travelling for 3 months in SE Asia) and we got half the value we would normally get. If you came on your 2 week holiday here I think you would be seriously disappointed and would leave after 1 or 2 nights. Don't waste your time.
