If you want the best, try Niksoma. Their motto is "Customer Service is number 1".
This hotel treats you like royalty, little things like a pool attendant will place a luxurious towel out on a deckbed, and even tilt the back to your liking. The rooms are superb, particularly the junior suites. Breakfast and infact all food is to "die for"
Having stayed in numerous Bali hotels, Niksoma is truly the best.

We were told Niksoma was trendy, boutique, great for couple. As we usually stay at Patra (six times over past 4 years) this was a quick 4 day trip without the kids. We decieded to stay 2 nights at Niksoma and 2 nights Holiday Inn. Big mistake , this hotel cost around $50 more a night. The room very basic, TV ancient. bathrooms Shower in Bath. lighting shoking. Couldnt read at night in room. The bed, oh my goodness. Extremely hard and very sweaky. After first night we mentioned bed very uncomfortable to staff. nothing was done. The first day there was an argument in pool area as some older people, who obviously thought the hotel was too good for anyone with kids, had pushed someones child on a blow up lilo and told them to move right away from them. The children infact were not being loud just splashing along on the lilo. I definately would not take children there. My sister stayed the week later, same thing. She was there 5 nights and really annoyed to find out for an extra $30 per night could of upgraded . Apparently the upgraded rooms were great.

The niksoma has 4* aspirations . Rooms have all you need, breakfast with a great view and friendly staff, swimming pools and service are great, as is the location in front of the ocean. if not too many people and no noisy kids from australia or rude teenagers from Jakarta it is a good choche for a bali break

Pros:
*Super Friendly staff.
*Beautiful pools with no problem getting a deck chair.
*Nice breaky.
*Rooms cleaned well,
*Fantastic location on the beach and you can walk along the beach to kuta or catch a taxi for next to nothing
Cons:
*The standard/superior rooms especially the bathroom are disappointing (dated bathrooms) quite strange considering how nice the rest of the hotel is.
*My rooms patio looked onto a big concreate wall.
*Airport pickup didn't arrive (not a problem as taxis as so cheap but annoying looking for them rather than just jumping in a taxi)
*They were doing some work on a new deck near the pool that had people working from 7am until late at night took a bit away from the relaxing atmophere
*Wifi and spa were expensive (but out the back of the hotel is an internet cafe and there is a great locally run spa called "Inner glow" that is excellent and I spent a large portion of my time at - don't miss it, you may need to book as everyone who goes seems to book more sessions as they are so good I went every day and on my last day I had the 4 hour package of massage, body scrub, facial and cream bath that came to a grand total of Rp.247,500!)
