I stayed here with a group of friends in August 2014. We were 12 people, so we booked the entire house for one night. And already upon arriving we all really regret that we didn't stay longer! The house is really beautiful with large rooms, comfortable beds and warm blankets (which you need in Nuwara Eliya!).
Wasantha, who runs the place, really did very well in giving us every possible comfort. We had pre-ordered dinner from the menu. However, during the dinner he kept bringing us all sorts of delicious food which we hadn't even ordered (free of extra charge). It was really a feast and we enjoyed it a lot.
Next to the dining area, there is a nice living room area with comfy chairs.
The bungalow is not quite in the city centre of Nuwara Eliya, so you will need a car or a trishaw to get there. However, the view from there over the scenic landscape surrounding Nuwara Eliya is simply breathtaking. A good starting point for travels to Horton Plains or other mountain treks in the area.

Nice accomodation, good room and good food . After we ordered food the owner went to the market ....after about two hours we got the food without information before . Very cold there in night time. The prices everywhere in Sri lanka for accomodation are much to high for what you get, as well in relation to other asian countries.

Wasantha, the manager, is super kind, always helpful and ready to explain much more than what concerns his hotel, hence getting around Nuwara Eliya, organising or even joining and leading the trip to neighbouring places like Horton Hights etc. Exceptionally good food at the bungalow (actually little hotel). The bungalow is at the hill, overlooking the city, offering wonderful sights almost from every bedroom. Very good value for money, but getting to know the place, explained by the native and with this dedication and passion that Wasantha has, is what makes the difference. To recommend. Mario

Room Tip: just do not take the room next to the kitchen, all the other rooms have exceptional sights of the entire valley. Besides, all the rooms have their own bathroom (to my knowledge). Do not expect luxury, but a decent low budget accommodation with an exceptional service.

Stayed here for 4 nights (Dec 2014) and absolutley loved it! Wasantha and Chithra are so lovely and kind even looking after my friend when she was ill. Great advice on the area and what to do and amazing true Sri Lankan cooking! Great hot showers, warm blanket on the bed, fire, nice social area and just a general cosy vibe! Tuk tuk or walk (20-30min) into town but worth it. Best in Nuwara Eliya if not Sri Lanka!

Wasanatha was a great host, organised everything for us with a smile during our stay and gave us lots of useful tips and history of the area.

Good rates in a large house on the hill with a homely feel with a nice view over the town. The rooms were slightly dated but charming.

Great food, plenty of tea and cake to keep you warm. A good stop for travellers looking to spend less and still be well looked after
