Across Central Avenue from the Historic bath houses of Hot Springs, The Waters is in a white marble building which was built to house the offices of the physicians who treated the crowds that flocked to this spa town in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The design wisely incorporates much of the original fittings from iron staircase rails to original marble lined halls to charming effect. The solidity of the structure is a plus: Hot Springs' raucous main drag right outside never manages to make itself heard inside. The rooms are spacious and comfortable in the "minimalist" mode. Friendly staff completes the picture fetchingly.

Room Tip: Best not to test the sound-proofing by staying on the front facing Central Avenue.

The Waters thanks you for taking the time to leave us this review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay in our historic hotel. Downtown Hot Springs has a variety of activities to enjoy that include the bathhouses as well as museums. My wife and I spent the weekend here to celebrate our upcoming wedding anniversary. We purchased the Romantic Weekend Getaway package which included a private couples bath and massage at Quapaw Baths and Spa. The hotel room was very nice and the hotel itself was located perfectly next to shopping and restaurants. The staff was very friendly, especially, Justin B. He was working the valet parking and front desk during our stay. He was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying here and will stay again in the future.

Stayed here for my 35 wedding anniversary! The hotel is older but very nice, the rooms were clean and very spacious! I requested the top floor and when we checked it we got it! Brian, jason, Eric and Justin all awesome this was probably as far as personal touch and friendliness the best I have ever experienced, brian told me not to say to much about Justin his head would get bigger, but they were all excellent!! Will never stay anywhere else!

Lacy,

The Waters is delighted to hear that you had such a fantastic stay. We are located in the heart of the historic district of downtown Hot Springs which in turn means our building is historic as well. The Waters tries to incorporate a modern feel throughout the rooms while keeping the historic beauty in our common areas. We appreciate all of the feedback on our staff's performance, The Waters strives for excellence and it seems they did a great job. I will make sure to pass this on to them. We hope to see you the next you visit Hot Springs.

Great location right on Bathhouse Row in the middle of Hot Springs. Our room was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. Plus this elegant hotel's hallways have the feel of an early 20th century bathhouse with tiled floors and appropriate lighting so we felt a connection with the city's historic bathhouses. We were originally going to stay one night but with such wonderful accommodations and so much to see and do in the area we decided on booking a second night. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient, but we had the most interaction with the valets Brian and the other young fellow originally from Virginia (sorry I can't recall his name),it was their enthusiastic attitude and great service that really made us feel welcomed. Definitely will consider staying there again and will recommend to anyone interested in visiting Hot Springs!

We stayed 4 nights. Monday – Thursday, 1st week of May.

The one great thing you can say about this property is the location. Situated downtown, across the street from the bath houses and right in the middle of the shopping, restaurants and attractions. You can walk everywhere. You are charged $15 a day for the valet parking.

The beds were very nice. The staff and service were good.

Things to consider before booking:
The rooms are EXTREMELY small.
There are no mirrors! The bathroom had one LED back lit mirror providing NO light and a magnifying mirror. There were no other mirrors in the room.
A refrigerator was provided with no freezer. There was no microwave.
Amenities were not left everyday – shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, bar soap, and complimentary bottled water. The room was cleaned 3 days and amenities were left one time other than those upon arrival.
Bathroom design was unusual. The towel rack was above the stool, not too uncommon but there was no stool lid and the rack made it difficult to keep towels from falling straight into the commode.
There was a small corner desk, no other tables in the room. We asked the front desk if there was any place we could play cards. There were no tables in the lobby. We asked about playing on a table in the restaurant while they were closed and told that was not an option.

I would think twice before booking here again.

Brenda,

We are glad that you enjoyed the location but are sorry to hear that you had so many unpleasant experiences. The Waters strives for customer satisfaction and apologizes for the inconveniences you have encountered. We are in the process of improving some of the concerns you have mentioned such as putting mirrors in all the rooms, which should be done by the end of the week. As far as the other concerns go, I will make sure to pass those off to the appropriate people to ensure future stays are more enjoyable. We thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback and appreciate your review.
