Came here multiple times. The biggest, plumpest Rock Oysters we had in town were here. Beautiful raw and delicious chargrilled too. We justsat at the bar, light, airy and plenty to see through their open French doors on this nice corner. Also have upstairs and balcony dining. Was fun watching the Oysters get shucked and prepared right in front of you.

We couldn't get into the Acme Oyster House as it was so packed. We came around the corner and asked a city worker where they would eat and they recommended the Royal House. It was a great idea! The food was very good and the waitress was fun. The building has a lot of character. And we weren't sitting on top of other people like we would have been at Acme!

Raw oysters at the bar were excellent.
Only 2 beers on draft though. Rest in bottles.
Location is wonderful. Royal street, excellent for Art, and Antiques!

We walked past the Royal House many time while we were in New Orleans but we were never hungry or we were on our way some place else until that Friday when Arrow, the doorman coaxed us inside.....thanks Arrow.
We were seated at a nice little table for two and our server Gaynell was there right away to see if we wanted anything from the bar. The food was good, I had Shrimp and Grits, the grits were AWESOME and my wife had the Oysters Duo. We both enjoyed our meal. Gaynell was great always there if we needed something but not obtrusive.
Next time we are in New Orleans we will be back. Thanks once again to Arrow and Gaynell..

Dined here on a business trip. The food was good, and the service was great. Loved the Bananas Foster Cheesecake.
