We love muffalettas the olive salad makes them. Charming little establishment. The wait in line was worth it.

I couldn't wait to take my Italian cousin here to enjoy the mufallata. We even bought extra to take back to our hotel. Immediately when you walk in you are surrounded by the aroma and flavors of a good Italian deli. Wanted to stay there all afternoon.

Well, we did it. We waited in line an hour to eat a sandwich that was supposed to be famous. More like infamous - dont get what the big deal is - bread, olive salad, one very thin slice of 3 kids of meat and cheese. whooppee. Not inpressed. Not too many things can beat a Central Grocery muffaletta. If you like olives and good italian meats, you will adore this sandwhich. Pick one up and eat it at the French Market while listing to a jazz band... it will be one of your best memories ever....

It's in the French Quarter; it's an old, quaint Italian grocery; they make a damn fine sandwich called a muffuletta. Grab a cold root beer, split a sandwich with a travel partner, grab a stool in back, and enjoy. Far from fancy, but damn close to great.
