This neat little bar was a stop on my cocktail tour of New Orleans. The Sazerac was the drink we had here. I am sure it was made great, but it wasn’t really my my drink. The place is a quirky place decorated with old typewriters. It had a quiet chill atmosphere, which was kind of nice from the rest of the hubbub of Bourbon Street.

Located on Chartres St - just across from the Marriott Hotel. Very neat old bar with great bartenders! The drinks are great, and the atmosphere is super cool! If you go, ask for a "Zelda's Revenge" - a drink made with Absinthe!!

Backspace is one of the only places in the Quarter I go to, because it somehow stays out of the Quarter's craziness. It's a classy-looking place with dark wooden walls and books and old typewriters used as decoration throughout the bar. The drinks are reasonably priced (for the Quarter), and the food is delicious too.

Whether you want to escape the craziness of the Quarter for a bit and recoup with a drink, or if you want to avoid it all together, Backspace is your place!

Stopped in for a quick lunch, meatloaf with feta sandwich and chicken avocado sandwich were both amazing!! Bar looked like it would be fun to drink in later in the day!

Don't assume this is just your typical dive bar with typical bar food. The food was amazing and the prices were def not Bourbon St. prices. Really AWESOME food with cool tunes in the background.
