I have taken other tours of the city with another company which was amazing.

We went with my family for the weekend and raved about how these haunted tours are a must...well.. this one specifically is a MUST NOT! I felt terrible having to make my family go through the entiretiy of the tour saying " it should get better this is only the second stop..."

Well after the 4th stop we realized it was only getting worse and she said we had 1 spot left to visit.

We did the 5 in 1 and you literally only go to 5 spots and spend like 25 mins in each section. It was a total snooze fest. We literally saw someone on the tour falling to sleep. The tour ignores major "haunted" spots in New Orleans, and the stories are like an excert and commentary out of Wikipedia. This tour lacked a good story telling and narrative of the history of New Orleans... we told more haunting ghost stories in the bar then what we got out of this tour.

What was annoying is when we booked the tour they advertised it as the best all in one. They told us " we'll talk about the 5 key subjects, ghost, voodoo, vampire, witches, an hauntings all in 1 tour!"

Well they literally only talked about 1 story of each. As we literally walked away from other key historical buildings in New Orleans that have a history of being haunted because " oh that's not on this tour we cant talk about it"

I recommend going with another company.

Our tour guide MADE this experience. He was quite knowledgeable, enthusiastic and really passionate about his job. He claims to be from Transylvania (!) and his accent certainly makes that seem possible. He even stuck around about 15 minutes after to share stories from questions we asked. Just a genuinely nice guy. It was a lot of walking/standing, and the stories get a little bit boring at times. But it was interesting to hear some of the history--whether fact or faction--and was a good experience overall. Our 12 year old managed to capture an orb in one of her photos, and felt a cold hand on the back of her neck at one point. Pretty cool!

Best tour guide? Thorn, hands down!! He knows his NOLA history and is a great people person! Great sense of humor to boot! I did the bus tour 4/1 7p-9p after having walked all day and it was well worth it! I'd choose a bus tour over walking tour any day. Next time, I hope to do another of Thorn's tours. I had never done a bus tour and the only thing I would advise about is the fact you have to get off and on the bus frequently. For those who have back and/or hip issues, rent a scooter and take the walking tours. Kudos, Thorn!!!

We went on the 5 and 1 tour. This was our 3rd time using HHT, but our first for the 5 n 1. Toast was an AMAZING host! We learned so much and had the best time! You will not be disappointed! We will definitely ask for Toast when we return.

Our tour guide was Charmaine, she was very knowledgeable about anything you could ask about the cemeteries and burial process in New Orleans. This was a very cool tour if you’re into that kind of thing, some parts could be a little corny, but overall, we learned some cool things about being buried in New Orleans. She took us to St. Louis Cemetery #3, City Park, a city cemetery where you’re buried under ground, St. Patrick’s #3 and Charity Hospital Cemetery (they’re next door to each other). Charity Hospital Cemetery is also the site of the Hurricane Katrina Memorial. When you book it, it says you’ll be going to Bayou St. John, but we didn’t end up going to that and we expected a little more history, but it was just a couple ghost stories which was a little disappointing. We got some cool pictures and learned a lot about the cemeteries and a little about Katrina.
