Hotel Grüner Baum is located in the middle of Zell am See, just a few steps from the main streets and 2 minutes from the lake. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom had a shower and a tub and was newly renovated and in perfect condition. The room had a very large balcony overlooking the mountains.
Parking was easy (the hotel has an underground garage) and breakfast was fresh and plentiful.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The only complaint was that beeing located so centrally there is quite a bit of noise fra people during the night.
I would stay at the hotel again.

We were a family of four who had a two room apartment with balcony on top floor. Clean and newly renovated. Our teenagers slept in two sofa beds in livingroom/kitchen. This was worked well since it was a big room which also fitted a kitchen table with 5 chairs. Wifi worked fine. Drawbacks were no Air-condition which is a challenge with high summer temperatures. Windows need to be closed during nights due to a very noisy bar- and street party environment. Excellent location in the center of the town. Free parking area. Service minded staff.

The location is very central, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable! The ski lift was not far and the bars were closer. There was no noise if the windows were kept closed at night, though the night we did sleep with the window open it was not too noisy, too late.

My wife and I had an excellent time in Zell am see at the hotel Gruener Baum. The staff gave us a warm welcome and our room overlooking the mountain (beautiful view) had been recently renovated to a fantastic spec considering the hotel has 3 stars - the bathroom had underfloor heating with a huge separate shower and bath. The hotel is in the centre of the pedestrian area in the town and everything is reachable in a couple of minutes – lots of lovely bars, restaurants and the ski lift.
Breakfast had plenty of choice and we ate in the hotel restaurant on most nights because it was very good and had plenty of choice from typical Austrian dishes to international dishes so don’t worry about fussy eaters. The staff in the hotel restaurants and bars were also very friendly and accommodating.
We did a bit of skiing whilst there and even got a guided tour by the hotel manager Karl (but he was a bit too good for us!!!).
Zell am See is so picturesque, it’s hard to leave! We will be going back there and staying again at the Gruener Baum – in fact I’ve already booked it!
Many thanks to the family and staff at the Gruener Baum for their friendliness, fun and amazing hospitality! Look forward to seeing you at the end of February!

Room tip: Ask for a room in the main hotel bit on one of the top floors looking at the mountain!

Nothing was amazing and nothing stood out. It was clean and the staff were pretty straight forward with their service. I wouldn't really call this a hotel as much as a clean place to sleep in at the end of a long day at the slopes. If you're planning on spending time in the room, this may not be the best option.
