Hotel Dasmei
Firstly what a beautiful town Innsbruck is!
The scenery surrounding you, the very, very friendly people, the activities and even the tap water….. Austrian water, in particular Tyrol water comes in the top 6 of cleanest water in the world!
You’ll be drinking Glacial water whilst in Innsbruck for sure! Forget the bottled water, not needed.
We landed into Innsbruck airport and as expected it’s a fairly small place. The hotel is around 15 minutes drive away from the airport. Transfers are 25 euro to collect passengers and 20 euro to drop passengers.
The hotel itself is very new, in fact It opened only 3 years ago.
The staff are extremely friendly, I was taken care of by the team including Johannes who has a very professional demeaner and ensures guests have a brilliant stay.
It’s a family owned business and the family work super super hard in all areas of the hotel.
When you arrive make sure you get your Welcome cards (this will entitle you to free bus rides on Bus L3 to the Ski mountain)
Bus rides are listed at arriving at 8.39am but they didn’t come at this time very surprisingly, as all the public transport we used were bang on time with uber efficiency!
We had a room that had a view of the mountain. The amenities in the room are of a great standard.
The bathrooms have Hansgrohe tape and Villeroy and Boch sinks (to show the quality of the hotel)
The room has a balcony and had separate duvets in the king bed!
There is a main dining area past the reception and the
Breakfast is very good with a wide selection of breads, fresh cheeses including the creamiest Stilton, chilli cheese, Brie and others, Pastries, a bean to cup coffee machine producing your regular lattes to hot chocolates.
Soya milk, yoghurts, Cured Pork, Mushrooms, Grilled vegetables, Lovely selection of Cererals and juices too.
The restaurant gets very busy during lunch and Dinner. It seems like a fusion of Chinese and Austrian Cuisine.
You can get Thai vegetables for example and of course Italian staples such as Pasta.
I ordered a Pad thai which wasn’t that nice at all but everything else has a high standard.
We saw many guests that bought dogs with them to the Breakfast table, such as beautiful Akita’s.
The views from the breakfast table are spectacular.
Things to do around the hotel: within 5 minutes by bus L3 you can reach Muttereralm ski mountain. The bus stop is located 1 minute walk straight out of the reception and continue straight. The bus stop (Mutters Dorfstrase) is located on the right hand side of the road next to the Jesus Christ monument.
Next to the bus stop is the Tram stop. All seem to come on time and not a minute late or early!
The tram is a lovely way of seeing the scenery around Innsbruck and it takes you into the heart of the old town within 30 minutes, getting off at Innsbruck Maria-Theresien-Straße. (STB LINE)
To get back to the hotel, the tram stop is actually located in a different place. Imagine getting off at Maria-theresien tram stop, turn right, and take the next left, you will be able to see the penz hotel and an entrance to a shop mall. Walk through this to the other side reaching the automatic glass doors and its just on the left.
The tram stop next to the hotel is called Mutters Banhoff.
The hotel also offers parking too.
If you want a lovely upmarket hotel, In a beautiful, fairly quiet, close to a few restaurants, albeit very good ones such as the saint lucia Italian (superb) and a hotel close to the mountain muttereralm for skiing, I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel
