Booked 3 days @ the Sporthotel Schieferle and didn't regret my choice.
Nice place and friendly people, good breakfast.
Just a bit short in parking space.....
Anyway, would choose this place again on a next trip to Innsbruck.

If you are looking for a place which has a lot of activeties, then look somewhere else. But If you want peace and quiet then this is the place to be. Fairley large room with a good bed and some old fashioned furniture (for me that adds to the atmospheer) and great hospitallety makes this place worth a stay. All staff go to great effort to make you feel welcome, breakfast is very good with lots of choises. The hotel is just a short walk to a tram line which takes you to downtown Innsbruck in les than 30 minutes. The bar and restaurant were not open during my stay so one has to take a meal in the village of Mutters which has little choise, somerhing to take into consideration. All in all still worth a stay.
We stayed in this hotel from 13th to 16th May 2015. Location is scenic. View from balcony of the room is beautiful. Tiny village of Mutters is picturesque. Meadows and mountains around are great for leisurely walks. The STB tram route (only public transport to this hotel ) from Innsbruck to Flupmes is very scenic. It takes half an hour to Innsbruck and 45 minutes to Flupmes by STB.
Rooms are cozy and well maintained. Choose rooms on 1st floor as it has good balcony.
Breakfast served is scrumptious.
No other meals are available in hotel during our stay which was uncomfortable.
There are barely 2-3 restaurants in the village out of which only santa luiza pizzeria serves food through the day till 10 pm.
A good choice in Innsbruck area. People in the area are quite friendly (if you speak German, if not... it may come that they do not understand you, but they are still friendly and try to be helpful). Our room was very big, in fact we got a kind of suite, with two balconies; very clean and quiet. The restaurant: excellent food at a merely small price, the breakfast very good. A highlight: the eggs for the breakfast, served perfectly cooked in several ways. Try it! We will go here again on our next trip in the area.
We (me in my husband) didnt enjoy so much our stay in Mutters. The village is nice but we didnt find our place there, we belive that people from Mutters are not very happy to have turists, even we felt a litlle bit discriminated because we are a turist and we dont speak german! In this village and with all of other stuff we experienced in Mutters i concluded that the Sporthotel Schieferle and its lady Elisabeth are the best choice for Mutters. She tried a litlle more to be nice in a forced way...but thats means a lot for Mutters people who didnt know how to welcome you in not a way.
The property is classic austrian, with rustic rooms and average facillites. The breakfast its served to early for us (till 09:45) , was ok with cold cuts and cheese from supermarket..it will be nice to have some traditional food and some bio produts (considerind that are many farms in the area) but they dont have.
It's a 3 min walk till the station and you have a direct connection to Innsbruck.. A supermarket is a 20 min walk. Also you have free wifi and parcking.
Overall this hotel is a good location and a good choise, but Mutter wasnt for us! I hope ill never go there...i travel a lot but i didnt experienced such a unpleasant and unwelcoming atmosphere before in my life.
Our stay in Innsbruck was helped along by the choice of this hotel. It's in the beautiful hillside suburb of Mutters and has spacious rooms with lovely balconies looking across the fields. The rooms are a decent size with table and chairs if not a little old fashioned but clean and comfortable. There is a great Pizzeria down the hill about 500 metres "Pizzeria Santa Lucia" and the train into Innsbruck is only 20 metres up the hill and takes only 30 minutes to get to the 'old city' at a small cost of 5.60 return.
