We have just spent a brillint 7days at the fantastic lafodia hotel, we where in 522 brilliant view large double room everything was 100% perfect, went half board breakfast was very good plenty of choice and evening meals were fabulous, we where treated like royalty throughout our stay, it was our 35 wedding anniversary and when we got to our room there was a bottle of white wine on ice waiting for os and a letter from the owner congratulating us, fabulous thought, dont take any notice of any negative reviews this is the best hotel ive stayed in, go you wont regret it

Excellent hotel with lovely rooms, great service and stunning pool with the most amazing view! Island is rustic and stunning, only a few restaurants and no cars allowed. Arrive in style with the hotel speed boat. Delightful. Checked out and re-booked for next year!

Stayed here for a week at the beginning of June. We were booked on another Island Losunj but had to cancel due to building work, and this was a last minute booking with Jet 2 holidays. Flew to Dubrovnik then taken to a small port about 40 mins and over to Lopud Island by Lafodia's own boat, only about 15 to 20 mins. The area is stunningly beautiful, the sea is the deepest blue, green I have ever seen. The hotel looks totally out of place on this beautiful island, but don't let the exterior put you off, it's been totally renovated and all ultra high tech, air conditioned throughout, the room was a premium pool and sea view room. Large double bed, tea coffee making in the room, lovely bathroom with accessories , slippers ,bath robes, large balcony with table and two chairs. The only negative was the towels were a bit thin and small. The room was serviced every day, which you would expect and was spotless. The staff were very friendly and amenable. We stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfast was fine apart from the tea and coffee this came from 2 machines where you had to queue, the hotel wasn't full when we were there so I should imagine the queuing for the coffee and tea would be horrendous if the hotel was full. The swimming pool area was quite small and there certainly wouldn't have been enough sun beds if the hotel was full, there is also a small pebble beach at the hotel, but if you want a mattress for the sun bed you have to pay for this, which in my mind is ridiculous at a 4* hotel. There is a bakery belonging to the hotel about 100yards away which serves good coffee, cakes, ice creme etc, would recommend. There is a sandy beach with good sun beds, about £3 each, at Sunj on the other side of the island. This is about a 30 min walk, but if you head up towards the beach you come across locals with golf buggys who run a taxi service to the beach for about £1 each way, well worth it and at the end of the day they are there to take you back. The beach is clean and the sea is amazing shallow with lovely yachts coming and going. There is a bar and snack bar, pizza, chips or sandwich. The toilets are clean. Back in Lopud there are plenty of restaurants to eat by the sea on an evening the prices are about the same as UK for good local caught fish. You can go on the local ferry to Dubrovnik about 55 mins, a lot cheaper than the hotels organised tour, and you can book a tour of the old city just outside the walls when you get there. All in all I would recommend this hotel and this island, it's stunningly beautiful and peaceful.

Room Tip: Premium room with pool and sea view room was excellent

A lovely hotel in a brilliant location. We were on the sixth floor with beautiful views. All the staff are friendly, helpful and professional but the new spa is the icing on the cake. We have never seen such a quality, well planned facility and the staff are exceptional. I had the best treatments I have ever experienced. Thank you so much. We will be back next year(this was our 3rd visit)

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor or above to get really beautiful views

We had a lovely week's holiday at Lafodia hotel at the end of May this year. So much so that we have just booked again fro later in the year.
Our visit was quite early in the season, so not so busy and unfortunately the weather in the first few days wasn't so good. But, the hotel itself was lovely, and the island absolutely beautiful.
We had a comfort suite on the fourth floor. The room was spacious and the view of the town and sea really beautiful, although bigger balconies (we had two small ones) would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, the company we book through only offers comfort suites, classic rooms and premium rooms, and we are 'hoping' that we will be able to upgrade on our next visit.
We went bed and breakfast, which was a good choice, because there are several restaurants on the island and for the days with inclement weather we were able to dine in the hotel's restaurant. One of the restaurants wasn't open then, maybe it will be when we return.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view, ours was on the fourth floor.
