I planned to meet a friend not seen for several years for dinner when passing through north suburban Atlanta, and I asked him for dining spot suggestions in and near Marietta. Copeland's was on his list, so I rather arbitrarily selected it. Most of the others were national chains you can find anywhere. Copeland's is a chain but it's a small chain and none of us had ever dined there before. It proved to be a great choice. It was a busy Saturday night made even busier by crowds of prom-bound teens, but the staff handled the crush with apparent ease. I was tempted by the red beans and rice, but ultimately opted for an entrée size portion of steak Labouchere, which is sirloin served with angel hair pasta, garlic butter, and a tasty sauce. It was excellent. The three others in the party ordered steak, fish, and salads. We shared some unique chicken egg rolls that bore no resemblance to anything served in Chinese restaurants. They were excellent, as was every dish brought to the table by a friendly and efficient staff. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. I definitely recommend Copeland's to anyone who is in or near Kennesaw at meal time.
