We recently stayed 6 nights with 3 adult children (2 rooms) for vacation. I can not think of anything I did not like about this place. Conveniently located to practically everything, we were able to walk everywhere, including the Amtrak station to catch our train.
All the employees were friendly and helpful, especially the turn down service woman. Routinely coming to the room after our east coast time zone bodies were past ready for bed, she eagerly gave us plenty of chocolates and left us alone!
Get a goldfish delivered to your room, even if you think it's silly. You'll be amazed how attached you can get to a goldfish!
The rooms are spacious (we had a king suite and a queen) with plenty of places to sit besides just the bed. The beds are comfortable, clean, and the water pressure in the shower is amazing! I love the full size shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel pump bottles in the shower. Not having to fumble with tiny bottles and caps is nice.
We never seemed to be around for the wine reception (so much to do!), but did have breakfast one morning in the hotel restaurant and it was very good.
The value of the rooms, especially with the AAA rate, was excellent. I've stayed in many hotels not nearly as nice for more money.
I will not hesitate to stay here again if I am in Seattle.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Monaco. We spent 2 night there before we went on an Alaskan cruise. The hotel is a short walk from the Pike St. Market and just a few blocks in the orher direction from the Ferry Terminal. The rooms are clean and spacious and the service is excellent. They have a complimentary wine tasting in the lobby every evening and you can even get a goldfish delivered to your room to keep you company if you like.
The Sazarac Restauraunt is located on the first floor. The food and service is decent and they have a nice happy hour with inexpensive appitizers.
I would say if you are flying into Seattle don't bother with a rental car. Valet parking at the Monaco is $35 per night. Take a shuttle in from the airport. The city has a good public transportation system, the busses downtown are free, and cabs are easy to find.

Hotel staff were wonderful! Hotel was clean--the room & most importantly, the bathroom, were very clean! The free wine reception hour was wonderful! The hotel is close to Pike Place Market, famous Post Alley, and wonderful shopping (Nordstrom, Tiffany & Co., Macy's, etc., etc.) and is in a very safe part of town--walking around, even later at night, wasn't an issue.

While the rooms are a bit dated, the hotel overall was very nice. In a good location downtown just a few block from Pike Place.

We stayed here for two nights while in town for a Seattle Sounders game. We were traveling with our two boys, ages 7 and 4. They LOVED our "pet" goldfish, Pink. The evening wine/soft drinks/appetizer reception was a nice touch. We booked the AAA "50% off Parking Package" which made this a decent value. I signed up for the Kimpton program as advised by other Tripadvisor members and received free in-room WiFi and a $10 mini bar voucher. The kids are already asking when we can schedule a return visit to see "Pink"!
