The Troll under the bridge, a statue of Lenin and a giant rocket are all things you can see in eclectic Fremont. A favorite attraction is the statue called Waiting for the Interurban in the middle of the main street, frequently decorated for the holidays by Seattle residents. Lots of funky stores, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops frequented by nearly Seattle Pacific University students or the ubiquitous Google workers who seem to be everywhere. Always fun to watch the famous Fremont Bridge go up to boat traffic. Parking is hellacious here--ride a bike if possible.

This is the artists’ haven in Seattle as there are statues and funky designs all over. Even the Fremont Bridge is artistic with its blue and orange coloring (someone must be a Broncos fan). The Troll and Lenin statues are wonderful. But the Waiting for the Interurban and the Late for the Interurban are the ones that really struck me as unique. Take a while and see all the amazing art.

Out of the way, but worth it to see the Fremont Troll under the bridge in the Fremont section of Seattle at the corner of Troll Avenue and No. 36th Street. It was on my list of things to do in Seattle. I had just seen the movie 10 Things I Hate About You before leaving for Seattle and it is featured briefly in the movie. Great for photographs!

We stopped here on our tour of Snoqualmie Falls...it is a very quirky thing to see! Great story about him and the view of the bridge is awesome too!

The troll is a classic tourist spot near Fremont. Kids would love it. A bit tricky to get to but worth a short side trip.
