We celebrated my birthday with the family. This place is absolutely amazing. One of the best of the top best places. Everything was perfect. The room, the service, the staff, the gardens, the restaurant. A very beautiful, immaculate place. The SPA is fantastic. You are being treated as a royal.

We stayed here for a night just prior to our second child's arrival - had a lovely aperitif and dinner, relaxing stroll around the pond, good night's sleep, yummy breakfast and fantastic prenatal massage at the Caudalie spa. Hubby was also able to go for a run in the forest adjacent to the hotel which he really enjoyed. Ideal place for a romantic weekend getaway, particularly for those based in Paris who would like to get a bit of fresh air. (It's only about a 20 minute drive from the city but is a complete change of scenery).

Dear Caroline,

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Congratulations for your second child's arrival, it's always exceptional moments.
Indeed, the good localization of the hotel is ideal for a relaxing moment at the doors of Paris. You can enjoy the serenity of the place, the beautiful ponds and the nearly forest which goes to Versailles. Perfect to take a rest.

Hope to see you again.

If you have a car, Les étangs de Corot can be a very nice place to visit Paris (30 minutes by car from Paris center) and Versailles (10 minutes by car).
Nice hôtel, in front of a small lake surrounded by nature ....
Only negative point : the mattress could have been softer .....
We had diner in one of the restaurants, The Paillotte, sort of "guinguette" very pleasant in summer ....

This property is known for two things, the setting in the park like area of the multiple "etangs" (ponds) and the supposed theme of a different artist represented in each room. The setting was lovely and quiet, but I never got the supposed artist character for each room. We had room 27, the Manuen junior "suite." I am not sure what made it a jr suite as it was a bit crowded, the floor plan was broken up by a poorly placed set of stairs, the bathroom was small (one sink) and you could not open the doors to the bath and separate toilet as the doors collided with each other. The room does have a lovely view, a nice balcony, and no room above it so it was quiet. Our reception was gracious, and the free underground car park much appreciated.Breakfast is modest at best with an extra charge for eggs of any kind.

Room Tip: If you want an unbroken floor plan (no stairs in the room) and room is important get a suite and look at the room first.

Dear Robin,

Thank you for your comment. We are glad to see that you have appreciated the setting, the view of the room 27, the parking and the reception.
We try to give to each room their own personality and history. Thanks to those artists, painters, famous characters which are related to this place, our hotel have its own charm.
Our breakfast at Le Café des Artistes is a buffet made up of a large kind of sugary and savoury food to all tastes !
We would be pleased to welcome you again among our ponds.

Best regards,

We spent a weekend in this lovely hotel as a short romantic break (we live 20 minutes away). We had the Victor Hugo Suite with a partial view on the ponds, which was spotless, tastefully decorated, cosy and very comfortable. Having a bath and a shower is quite a luxury, combined to the panoply of Caudalie products which I confess I had never tried before in spite of South Western France origins... We basically tried everything: breakfast and dinner at the Café des Artistes (excellent value for money, stunning food at reasonable prices) - the breakfast is particularly great and is one of the best I have ever tried - and I've tried a few; Dinner at the Michelin Starred restaurant, perfection for food, service and value; Spa, really good massage, great service (though the Hammam could be slightly bigger as there was plenty of space). What is particularly pleasing is the culture of service that is so often lacking in hotels in France, from reception to waiters and cleaners, nothing is ever too much trouble, service is friendly and discreet, really what you would expect from an outstanding hotel. And finally: the location, 20 minutes from Paris and 20 minutes from Versailles. We will definately be back.
