When the nearby Baymont couldn't honor the room rate for our organization's meeting due to my tardy registration, I found the Days Inn for 1/2 the price and, after reading reviews, steeled myself for a tolerable stay. But I was very impressed. The room was clean, fast wifi and decent channel selections on TV. All plumbing worked fine & quietly with a treat of a working and adjustable shower head. Plenty of towels and nothing threadbare. Room included both microwave and refrigerator (quiet), the heat/air worked fine and window opened a crack to permit some fresh air. In sum, the room was above adequate for a budget hotel. My fears were not realized.
What was especially nice was the hotel is situated near but away from the highway access unlike Baymont that fronts the entrance ramp and the highway. Odd number rooms face a row of heavy trees providing privacy, darkness and quiet. The hotel is immediately adjacent to a small shopping area dominated by a decent selection of food options, sports bar and even a pool room. So you can eat, drink and walk back to the room.
Sure, the carpet in the halls is a little dingy and there is a dearth of electrical outlets in the room. But nothing was off putting and overall found this to be the preferable option for a budget hotel in south Springfield.More
