The Garage is a great mini-mall in the center of Harvard Square. My daughter loves Hootenanny's, an eclectic collection of clothes and accesories (if you're familiar with Hot Topic you'll know what to expect, more or less). Newbury Comics has a good selection of music (inclduing vinyl), comics, posters, and novelty junk. Pho Pasteur is well known for outstanding vietnamese soups. The one on Kneeland St in Boston had the best chicken soup I've ever tasted. This one in the garage has a wider menu; I've only eaten as this location once. Formaggio's always had great sandwiches - great bread, great cold-cuts, great spreads. Go out out the exit onto Dunster St and turn left, and walk up to Herrell's for great made-on-the-premises ice cream. You can eat in the vault.
