This was the second time at this establishment in the past year. They do not take reservations, but despite the fact that the place was packed, we only had to wait about five minutes for a table. We were a party of four. Three in the party had the fajitas, and I had the mesquite grilled salmon. Those that had The fajitas said they were fair. My salmon was also mediocre . I’ve noted that others have said how great the margaritas were. I personally did not think they worth bragging about. I do not recommend this place if you want to go for a nice quiet dinner. It is VERY noisy.

Had dinner at Border Cafe with a business colleague and enjoyed the energetic atmosphere and the plentiful food, but diners should know this is a very casual and medium quality restaurant.
Border Cafe is a real college restaurant near Harvard Square, frequented by young people looking for drinks, fun and affordable food. The menu is mostly Mexican but there is some southern influence as well, including creole. I opted for a margarita at the start and fajitas for food. Both were fine and plentiful, but nothing out of the ordinary.
The service was friendly but inconsistent and one had to wait a bit for ordering or making additional requests. The restaurant is certainly busy, but it should be staffed accordingly.
The atmosphere and interior is loud and crowded. That is no problem in itself, but floors and bathrooms need a bit more attention than they were given.
Overall, no complaints about the drink and food, but the restaurant did not leave a strong enough impression to become a likely repeat destination.

This place is conveniently located beside Harvard. Great menu and amazing prices. The food quality is high and the food is fresh and zesty. Friendly and relaxed restaurant. Definitely recommend it.

I rarely go to Tex Mex restos, but tried Border Cafe on a colleague's recommendation. It did not disappoint!

Based on online reviews, I chose the Eggplant Royale. It was a huge dish, very tasty.

I liked the vibe of the place. Staff were very friendly, prompt and helpful.

Visited with two co-workers for dinner. We all had the beef fajitas. Quite tasty and sufficiently generous portions. The place seems quite popular. Most restaurants in most cities would be quite jealous of such a crowd on a Monday night. Prices reasonable for the quality of food and service.
