Charming area with great shops and restaurants. You can walk for hours and see a lot of interesting things, including people. However, I can't give more than three stars for one reason: parking. Parking is horrendous. Good luck finding anything on the street, and the one or two lots are tiny and always full. If you were to visit Carytown, I'm not sure how you are expected to get there.

Strolling down Cary street is most enjoyable. Old shops gone, new shops sprout up. While the roots remain. Amici, Can Can, Cary Cupcakes, Mellow Mushroom and more. Gotta GO!

Carytown offers an array of different types of restaurants (American, Indian, Chinese, French, Thai, etc.) from casual to upscale with a lot of cute boutiques to explore. It's not a big area but offers enough interesting shops and things to do for half-a-day.

Carrytown is unique if you are interested in that sort of thing but by all means go to the Can Can restaurant. Great food and service in an old time atmosphere. You won't be disappointed.

Eclectic collection of one of a kind, very local shops, restaurants, and boutiques. Walking down the street, dropping into the farmers market, having a quick bite or lunch or dinner in one of many of Richmonds best restaurants, this is a very in, happening area.
