Stayed here with family during a weekend visit to Richmond. The location is good, close to major highways and dining options. The hotel seemed to be full. The check in went well (maybe because we arrived early). The room was adequate. Nothing out of the ordinary. The kids wanted to hit to pool, so I went along. There were dirty/used towels all over the place. One of the pool underwater lights had been taken out and was just sitting outside the pool, which was probably a hazard with kids running around. I was puzzled when I saw a group jump a fence and enter the pool area (reserved for guests), but, being an out-of-towner, I didn't say anything. The pool's water looked unsanitary, but it was so hot outside I didn't have the heart to tell the kids we were going back to our room. During breakfast the next day, there were no places to sit as the breakfast area was totally crammed and chaotic. It seemed like hordes were fighting to get to the last piece of bacon. The staff was scrambling to attend to this legion of guests. The way the whole lobby area was designed, probably doesn't help. The floor was dirty with eggs and other scraps. Tables were dirty as well. Bottom line, not a pleasant breakfast. On the plus side, they do have a small gym and it was completely empty in the early morning so I was able to do my workout in peace (while the rest of the guests were apparently busy fighting over waffles).
