If you want amazing views, this is the place.
A great agroturismo with good facilities (restaurant, bar, small shop). The appartements are well spread out over the domain so you never feel overcrowded. You definitely need a car to visit around a
Staff is very friendly.
Great place with kids.

We would definitely go back!

A week wasn't long enough. Stayed with 4 and 6 year old girls. Accommodation varies with some apartments more plush so make sure you know what you're booking (eg one next door to us had a balcony at rear) but couldn't fault cleanliness and kit out of apartment. Picnic benches for eating outdoors and plenty of green spaces for kids to play. We pretty much had pool to ourselves - again really clean. Great location for visiting small local villages and also Siena, Florence etc. Rented bikes and kids did d short pony ride. Would highly recommend and will definitely revisit.

Room tip: All apartments are different. Do your research - check with reception.

We spent 6 nights at Castellare. The property has all you need for a family break, and each of the small groups of self catering units has a swimming pool. The location is stunning, with views over picture perfect Tuscan landscapes, and the location good to visit anything you want in the area, though of course you will need a car.
The staff were great - friendly, helpful and multilingual. The restaurant is decent, though there are a lot of excellent alternatives within a short drive which the reception can help you discover - it would be a shame to miss out on the variety of Tuscan food by eating at the same place every night.
Two reasons to miss out on 5 stars: our unit was the last one in the group, which meant the wifi didn't quite stretch (I was using a tablet) so I had to sit out to connect; and the shower was weak. Other than that, it is a beautiful place and good value.

Just back from three nights at Castellare di Tonda with my husband. Got a deal on Wowcher which included an hour's horse riding lesson or trek and bike hire as well as the accommodation and flights.

From the moment we got out of the Pisa Airport area and into the countryside we knew we were in for a real treat. The views were stunning and we couldn't wait to get to our accommodation, unpack and start exploring. The accommodation was basic but spacious - a gas hob, coffee maker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and central heating. A lovely shower but no bath. No oven, microwave, kettle (they're not really into tea in Italy!) or toaster. But it was all we needed. The pool and the views more than made up for any missing conveniences.

The place was also a great base. We hired a car and managed to get to Pisa, Florence, a beach, Siena and San Gimignano with ease from Castellare di Tonda. And the nearest town, Montaione, with a post office, banks and supermarkets was just a 15 minute drive away.

But the best thing about the resort was the staff. Compliments to the team. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Everyone in reception, the bar/ cafe and restaurant was super friendly, helpful, polite and hospitable. And the horse riding teacher we had was a total pro. I overcame my fear of horses to enjoy a horse riding lesson with my husband. Sylvia was a brilliant teacher and coped amazingly with my jitteriness.

We can't wait to go back!

The staff at Castellare di Tonda went well above and beyond to make our stay fabulous
Food was excellent !! Wine was wonderful and the views - superlative. I can not over state home much we felt at home. The stable staff were attentive to both the riders AND the horses; Only complaint -- too much food

Room tip: the end rooms have beautiful views of the vineyards and just a short walk to the resaurant
