My husband and I rented a car and drove a beautiful journey from Florence for an hour to reach Castellare di Tonda. We were shocked at the beauty of this place, and we were greeted with smiles and a warm friendly welcome and shown to our room which overlooked the stunning Tuscan countryside. We could see the most amazing sunsets from our balcony, they were just perfect! This is honestly the best place to come and de-stress. There are so many activities available, we tried horseback riding and it was such an enjoyable experience!

We will definitely return, and would love to try the spa next time which had amazing views! Thanks for everything to all the staff at Castellare di Tonda!!

Room tip: Ask for an upper room with views of the rolling countryside hills

Returned here and we enjoy the pleasure of Tuscanian food, sleepy atmosphere of countryside with high sun and blue sky. Magnificent views. Resort staff friendly as usually.
The only negative observation: wi-fi weak, need to re-enter the network several times a day.

Great set up with individual cottages spread over a large area. This means lots of quiet time and great views. Staff is very friendly and helpful and our daughter loved the mini club (although she was a bit disappointed that she could not do any countryside horseback riding, as this starts from 14 yo only).

We loved our House. It is obviously old, but it us very clean and everything works just fine.

Location is great - with many greater (Florence, Lucca, Siena) and smaller (San Gimigiano, Volterra, Greve in Chianti) a short drive away. The spa is also wonderful.

Downsides? The pool is not heated so swimming is no option unless it is really hot. And our bed was just really bad... other than this: warmly recommended!

We spent three nights and we simply loved the place, the staff the food and the amazing surroundings. A special touch of this is the friendly mini market and bar run by Andrea and his team. You will find excellent bottle of wines and best lunch/ snacks.
Overall great place to visit.

Currently sat on the hill top, overlooking the beautiful Tuscan countryside. We have travelled to many places in the world and this is the one place we keep returning to.
We come here to de stress and this is the perfect medicine.
We horse ride for the day with Marco. He takes us through the hills on fantastic horses that are not your average plodder. These horses are expertly trained and have impecable manners. Marco is a perfect host for the day from tips on riding and arranging a great picnic with of course the local wine added in.
He is amazing and a great soul.
The bar area is also great. Andreia is the heart beat of the wonderful bar/shop area. He creates wonderful platters to order. Always with a huge smile and cheeky laugh. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners one evening and their passion and warmth clearly shines through.
All the staff always give a warm friendly welcome. Georgio at reception makes check in easy and quick.
The spa has the most amazing views. This is a must if you visit.
The restaurant has the best pasta. We didn’t eat anywhere else as it would take a lot to beat the great food and service.
