Had various starters including fried calamari rings, risotto and the sausages. Main course fillets and the lovely chocolate fondant to finish up. Excellent throughout, recommended!!

we visited the restaurant in december and we had a great meal. this time it was a DISASTER !!!
we went to dine with a couple of ours which previously visited the restaurant and had a disappointing dinner but we persuaded them to go again with us. We were greeted by the restaurant manager and sat us at our table, we were given the menus and we ordered a pre dinner drink which never arrived. anyway we order our starters and asked for gluten free bread. the gluten free bread and that never arrived. The normal bread came but once it went cold the bread went rock solid i assume the its been re heated a few times its a good thing it cames for free. our starters came and 3 of us had pasta and the other one had a beef carpaccio. well the pasta had so much cheese in it that nobody could finish the starter. all you could taste is cheese and oil.and the beef carpaccio came out and the beef instead red it was brown it looked awful and didn't taste nice at all.As a main course we had fillet which cam in two pieces, the duck and the pork both came with soggy skin instead of crispy as they should be and the ribeye over cooked. one of us and the creme brulee and that tasted of flour lets hope its not from the packet. the waiter did ask us if everything was ok with the food but we didn't complain only because the couple that was with us when they visited the restaurant before and complained because there ribeye was overcooked the chef send the ribeye back out and said that's how it should be cooked. And to top it all off all we could hear from the kitchen during dinner is the chef's swearing between them how romantic !!! we will not come again any time soon.

Food was gorgeous, the porterhouse steak was cooked perfect. The sides which accompany the steak were more than plenty. The wine menu is very well priced, we pay double for most the wines and champagne in the U.K. at a decent restaurant. Daniel our server was brilliant and made us feel extra special, when I come back to our holiday apartment, Salt will be my first point of call.....

We had a really pleasant evening! Great starters fresh red prawn carpaccio and fried calamari. Excellent meat tomahawk steak and chateaubriant cooked to perfection with delicious homemade sauces. The desserts where to die for, creme brulee of white chocolate and cocos. A exquisite parfait with caramel and peanuts! The winelist was a great balance between french bordelais classics, great italians and an great discovery of maltese wines! Strongely advise the Maltese wine celcius! Really enjoyed our evening! Will be coming back!!
