This place was magical! It sits in a valley in a land that time forgot. Farmers harvest hay by hand and haul it up giant hills on their backs. Sheep with long tails lounge about in green pastures. Chickens scratch around in the fields, laying eggs that are eaten for breakfast in the morning. The hosts are warm and friendly and the breakfast was magnificent. All of the food was local. The honey came from the hives across the street. The eggs from the chickens on the hill. The jam was made from local fruits. There was a plum brandy that was unforgettable! There's a small creek that runs directly in front of the house which you can hear all of time since there are hardly any cars. I hope to return some day.
We were a group of 7 people, spanning 3 generations of our family, on 22 day, 11 country road-trip across Europe. There was a quite swing outside for relaxing, a large table inside for playing games, wifi to keep everybody connected, and a grocery store and great restaurant within walking distance. We wished for more time so we could experience some of the hiking trails in the area, as this property served as a waypoint in the trail system.
