Sugar Magnolia is the perfect place for a relaxing and romantic getaway. We stayed three nights in the beautiful Royal Suite. On arrival, we were provided with a set of keys and given a brief overview of the home. The room was spacious and clean, with many home-like touches. There were robes in the armoire, and extra linens in the closet.

The large bathroom featured a sunken whirlpool tub and walk-in shower, and a double-sink vanity. There were even candles provided to set just the right mood for a bubble bath for two.

Tucked in a curtained alcove, the brass bed was very comfortable. There were plenty of pillows! A skylight over the bed lets in a fair amount of morning light.

The suite had access to two porch areas, but we only used the one off the main room. Completely private, it had a table and two rocking chairs. We spent many hours there, sipping a drink, and watching the neighborhood pass by.

There is a small fridge in the main dining room that has complimentary soda and beer, along with a water cooler. Upstairs there was a small area with another mini fridge for guest use, a microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker, with a nice selection of coffees and teas.

Breakfast was served in the main dining room between 7:30-9:30 am. Kathryn was warm and friendly, and made a special breakfast each day; everything was delicious. She was very knowledgeable about the area, and offered suggestions of fun things to do locally.

I would love to stay here again. It was private, quiet, and serene, with all the comforts of home.

This is a great place to stay in Atlanta. Excellent location in Inman park neighbourhood . You can walk to Five points, Ponce Market, Jimmy Carter Library, Krog Market, and the Martin Luther King historical area. I loved the Bettline and there are great places to eat on it or near. Also the Marta is only a 10 minute walk so you can get to anywhere in Atlanta or out to Deacatur which is a lovely town with great individual shops, pubs and eateries. Sugar Magnolia is a lovely old house very well appointed , we stayed in the garden room which is lovely with a very nice deck to sit on. The hosts and Inkeeper are so welcoming and allowed us to stay an extra night when we were caught up in Storm Irma even though they were closed for deep cleaning. Kathryn is really knowleable about the area and gave us excellent suggestions for eating and visiting as well as being helpful when we had to change plans also her breakfasts especially her baked eggs with ham, cheese and onion are delicious.

Room Tip: We loved the Garden room

This is our new favorite b&b. Inman Park is such a gem of a neighborhood and Sugar Magnolia couldn't be better located in it. My husband and I stayed in the Royal Suite which was incredibly comfortable and clean. Jim, Debi and Kathryn had so many small touches that made the weekend memorable. Without a doubt we will be back if we return to ATL.

Room Tip: Easy access to the Beltline, which is bustling at night and lined with adorable markets and restaurants like Krog Market and Ladybird.

We stayed in the Royal Suite for one night. Room was amazing — bed so comfortable, ceiling fans kept the temperature right, and 2 balcony patios! There’s no door (just an open doorway) to the spacious bathroom (including the tub and shower), so heads-up re: privacy if you’re not a romantic couple in this room. (There is a door for the small room with toilet.) Easy drive downtown for dinner (and also options closer). For breakfast, I had indicated I didn’t like straight-up egg dishes, but when Kathryn saw my sadness at missing her stuffed egg and cheese croissants, she made us one anyway (in addition to our alternative, Belgian waffles with fresh local fruit). Street parking was easy and I felt safe in the neighborhood; easy drive from the ATL airport. We accidentally left a personal item in the room, and they were so kind to ship it to us back in California.

Sugar Magnolia could not have been better for our 4th of July/anniversary weekend! It's a beautiful old home in historic and refurbishing Inman Park. Bars, restaurants, ice cream places, and one amazing donut shop are all a short walk away, even though the immediate area is residential. But don't skip breakfast! Katherine is a wonderful cook and hostess and even went out of her way to get us some sweet yellow watermelon that was wonderful! No one was there when we arrived but instructions were provided and we got ourselves settled right away. We were in the Royal Suite, which has its own beautiful bathroom and access to two different decks. We used the rockers above the front porch both day and night! The bed was comfy, the room was clean, and while it was a little warm for us (even with the AC on) Katherine supplied a fan that took the edge off. We loved walking through the house to see all the decorations, around the yard, and through the neighborhood. The wifi could use a boost, but otherwise all was perfect. We had a car and all the major Atlanta sites were about a 15 minute drive away. We would highly recommend it and would stay there again, in the same room.
