We couldn't decide what to get so we got the sampler. Best thing there was the Brunswick Stew with DELICIOUS cornbread to go with it. I wish I could have some right now. The pork and beef barbeque were okay, but the stew will make me go back.

Pretty good BBQ.........A hole in the wall, but still an ATL tradition.

across the street from the dwarf house in south side atlanta, harrold's bbq does bbq right . exceptional meats, pork, ribs and chciken highlight bodacious plates overflowing with an assortment of tasty sides. the stew is legendary and there are few establishments that have a better offering when it ocmes to stew, the beans are equally as good and the slaw is every bit as good. i have been eating at harrold's bbq for 30 years. actually longer, as i used to eat at mobley's bbq, a thing of the past, and have never been disappointed with service, food, quality or quantity.
THIS IS A GREAT BBQ JOINT NOT TO BE MISSED!

I found Harold's one time when I got lost looking for Turner Field (baseball) parking. I was so lost, I decided just to cruise the neighborhood and check it out. Then I drove by Harold's, and the pungent smell of hickory smoke wafting across the road made me slam on my brakes.
Picture this: a little nondescript restaurant in a poor neighborhood. Out front in the dirt parking lot is a broken down old pickup truck, a Lexus, a police car, a Porche and a church bus. In other words, everyone comes to Harold's.. You walk into a dim dining room with old red-checked table cloths. You can sit at the counter, if you want.
The menu is basic, ribs and pulled porrk, beef ribs, chicken and sausage, if you must. No beer.. But, when you order, Harold himself fetches the ribs from the locked back room. One bite and you know why the door is locked. The ribs are treasure, sweet, pork candy falling off the bone, just a dash of the light, astringent sauce. There's mulligitawny stew, cole slaw, bread and cobbler. You can get it all to go, but it's more fun to hang out and see just who comes in next. While I was there about 15 well-heeled conventioneers, still wearing their badges, came in for a celebratory meal. So did an old man from the neighborhood to get his daily pork sandwich.
Harold's is, indeed, one of the city's best places for barbeque, but it's much more. It's a slice of the real Atlanta.
