Today my husband and I went and we took our 14 year old daughter. The museum has the Civil Rights story but also information on human rights. You think slavery is a thing if the past but it isn't. Discrimination, human trafficking and dictatorships exist today. Our daughter has not stopped talking about this museum. We all enjoyed it. Wanting to be a better person.

We really enjoyed visiting the center. It took about 2 hours or so to work our way through. One could spend more or less time, depending on what you have...but a good reminder of history and it's importance to the future.

There were 33 of us on a group tour. The staff at the center were wonderful and set everything up for us. We had lunch there after our tour. They arranged a tour guide for us as well. The exhibits were educational, well done, and at times, very emotional.

My husband, 12 year old son and I visited here, not knowing what to expect. We had been at the Georgia Aquarium and walked over. It was an incredibly eye opening experience - some of the exhibits had me in tears. You must take the time to see this place, especially with your children. We need to be aware of what has happened and what continues to happen in our world.

I took my kids on what I called the Civil Rights/Music/Foodie tour of the South. Atlanta was our first stop and we crossed the Pettus Bridge in Selma, saw the slave markets in New Orleans and the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. This was a great start for that segment of our trip. Not just focused on American Civil Rights, focus is also on civil rights throughout the World. Very well done!
