The weather was perfect from the moment we arrived and we just lazed our time away, swimming in the pool, gazing at the stupendous view that changes constantly. We even saw a school of dolphins making their graceful way across the bay and playing in the currents.
>> We loved Almunecar and it was a great location for us as the 3 youngsters could take real advantage of the tapas bars and Spanish evening life or just sit and watch the locals. Semana Santa was very moving with the processions and acting out the Easter story.
The house was generally well equipped and we found most things we needed. It was spacious, with plenty of storage. The terraces caught the sun all day, but also provided some shade.
There are lots of steps, so therefore I would not suggest you visit El Nido if you have young children or have dodgy knees!!
Being in such a spectacular position high above the sea, means the roads are steep. The walk down is fine, but up is a challenge, but not insurmountable. We used to drive down, leave the car and then walk into town either along the sea front, or along the footpath parallel to the main road. Then we had the car to drive us up!!
We had a really lovely holiday. So many thanks to Ana for all her help and lovely emails.More
