Recently returned from our holiday in the Costa Brava, staying at the wonderful Hotel Eetu. This makes a very comfortable base for exploring the delightful local area. This is the Costa Brava of the 'old days' - with not a high rise to be seen .... just wonderful scenery, beaches, coast paths, fishing villages etc. Very welcoming owners - we were hugged by Ber on our arrival (we had visited before, though!) Lovely views of the sea from the higher level rooms. Everything is very clean and all staff very friendly. Exceptional local restaurants in Begur, but you will need a car to get to them (not far). Good breakfasts in the hotel and also evening meals if you prefer not to venture out after a hard day on the beach. The area is charming and well worth a visit. Don't think about it ..... just do it, you will not be disappointed. We are already thinking about our 3rd visit!

We stayed here for a few days and had a lovely time. The area is very attractive and the walking equally so.
The Hotel is very clean, spacious and well equipped. The owners are welcoming and friendly, helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts were particularly good.
Apparently they are planning to install a pool and sunbathing area which will really help to complete it's restoration.
Well done Ber and Rune......and thank you !

Room Tip: top floors seem to have the best sea views

The hotel is situated in a very quiet town, close to the sea, in an amazing authentic environment. The owners renovated an old hotel. Not everything is renovated yet, but the hotel is VERY clean and very quiet. Very good beds, nice bathroom. I had a room with a stunning view on the sea, lovely to sleep with the windows wide open...

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room with sea side

Hotel Eetu is a wonderful hotel, the owners are incredibly helpful, especially Ber, who gave us recommendations for local restuarants and places to go.
There is a very easy going athmosphere,
Our room was very spacious, with wonderful 5 star towels, and lovely quality toiletries, and working air conditioning.
The breadfast was wonderful with a lots of fresh fruit, cheeses, meats and breads.
Newspapers are provided, even English and French ones.
We ate dinner in the restauant and it was very well presented and tasted great, it was very good value for the quality of the food.
There is a covered/enclosed carpark, so the car was never roasting.
There is a cove called Aigue something, to the right and it is possible to walk along the coast line to it, only if you are fit. Its probably around 1.5km. Parts at the begininng of it feel like you are actually walking trought peoples patios, in fact, you are, but you are allowed to. There are some pretty steep steps, and some short dark tunnels, but the walk is worth is and the views are beautiful, and when you arrive you feel you have earned your meal or drink. Do not walk back that way in the dark, so I would suggest you have something bright with you so you can be seen in the dark on the road.
There is no swimming pool, but it isnt really a problem as the sea is literally 150 meters away and you can jump right in to deep clear water. The swimming pool will be built but I dont know when.

Room Tip: the view of the sea is amazing

What a great experience. The staff at this hotel are amazing! They really do go the extra step to make your stay feel like home. The breakfast was good and the location was perfect. Minutes to the beach, and close to reataurants in Begur. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling the beautiful Costa Brava coast!
