If you like deserted beaches and hate high rise hotels, this area is for you. The atmosphere is very casual and friendly, and you can do as little or as much as you like. We stayed on the second floor of The Lone Palm, and found it very comfortable, with everything we needed. Our favorite thing was sitting on the deck overlooking a beautiful field, seeing and hearing the ocean through the trees lining the beach. There was always a breeze and the temperature was perfection. Hummingbirds and parrots flew by the house! We loved going to sleep and waking to the sound of crashing waves. Our hosts and their manager were full of good advice about local restaurants and beaches. We snorkeled at Shacks Beach which is right there, and drove over to Crashboat Beach and Jobos Beach, plus a couple of the surfing beaches. Jobos would be great if you have small children. If you want to dress up and have a fancy dinner or just a drink, you can walk to The Eclipse Restaurant which is very close and was excellent. Ola Lola's was also within walking distance for a super casual meal. Otherwise you need a car to get around, which we used to take an afternoon trip down to Rincon. Staying at The Lone Palm was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had.
Today is our last day at The Lone Palm. We only wish the trip could have been for longer then a week. It was our first trip to Isabela and to the Lone Palm. We were not certain what to expect but we found a slice of paradise. We were 7 people in total, 2 families. We rented the entire house, arrived late at night and were greeted by Danny who got us settled in and came back in the morning to tell us everything we needed to know about the house and the area. The location is incredible, isolated , steps to the ocean(with the sound of the ocean in the background), yet a quick car ride or walk to great resturaunts and many activities including horseback riding, For lovers of water snorkeling, surfing, kite boarding are right outside on what you will find is the most beautiful beach in the area. Thanks to Eileen who gave us in advance of our departure a list of excursions and resturaunts we were armed with so many options we did not know what we wanted to do first. Our days were full and we loved coming home to relax , enjoy the view before heading out for a great dinner. Our vacation will be one that we will be talking about for a very long time. We are already talking about our plans to return, we know we will!

This review is long overdue. we all absolutely loved The Lone Palm. Family met from Norway, Utah, New York and CT. The place is at the dead end of a road without any neighbors on either side. 20 steps to the beach. Restaurants near by as well as horseback riding and beach sports. The upstairs is the nicer of the 2 apartments but downstairs is nice as well. Fully stocked, we had everything necessary.
If you want a private, personal beach paradise, you will be pleased.
