“One Of The Best Snorkeling Spots On Maui!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 February 2012

Amazing snorkeling spot on Maui!

We snorkeled at Ulua and saw a manta ray! We were all in the water together and had seen some puffer fish, a sea turtle and lots of cool coral. Just as we decided to head back, my friend Mike saw a manta ray 15 feet below us. We took pictures and enjoyed the amazing sight of a manta ray in the wild (how many people get to see that?). Then, it started heading up towards my friend Jon and I and we freaked out and booked it. It looked like it unhinged its jaws. Maybe we overreacted a bit, but we're still alive, so it worked.

This was a great snorkel spot, though once you went past the rocks, the waves were pretty high. I didn't have a water guard in my snorkel, but it only affected me once. However, the surge was strong. There is also a spot where people (locals?) jump off the rocks above into the water. For the snorkelers, this means keep an eye out for falling dudes and beware the murky waters in that area. After, we tanned for a while on the beach and then decided it was time to go.

“Great Maui Beach!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

This is a great beach, but hard to park at. Snorkling is excellant; beach is soft sand, lot's of people; our only complaint would be trying to park at peak beach times (and the small sign when you are looking for it; although, GPS will get you right there).

“Scuba Dive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2012

Our family did an intro scuba diving course here and really enjoyed it. There is some shade and plenty of sunshine to dry out after so you can take your pick. Parking was difficult because of construction.

“Perfect!”

Our favorite beach close to our hotel. Not crowded because no hotels are there, only condos owned by local people. Great snorkeling!

“Great sheltered beach, great snorkelling”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2012

Beautiful beach, only drawback is there is major construction going on, so parking is VERY limited. Lots of great snorkeling (especially for beginners), surf isn't too rough, so our small children had a blast playing in the water.
