Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea
Ranked #2 of 8 Hotels in Wailea
Certificate of Excellence

Before you assume you cannot afford this dream getaway, you have to be realistic about the costs of staying in Maui.
The Four Seasons is unbelievable, these reviews are all exactly right, there is no place better to stay in the whole of Maui.
We booked with whatahotel.com, which is essential for anybody to do because it offers a cheaper rate, an upgrade, breakfast included (saves you about $40 pp!) and a food and beverage credit. I was worried they were a dodgey website but they were excellent and a legitimate travel partner with the Four Seasons.

This is why you have to splurge at the Four Seasons; because its a top notch resort that provides everything COMPLIMENTARY for guests, and this is why you pay the money!
Some of these things include:
FREE cabanas to lie by the pool or beach, as well as other umbrellas and beach chairs in beautiful spots on the resort
Use of tennis courts, racket and ball hire even tennis shoes and tennis clothes!
Refreshments by the pool and beach (can't stress enough how pampered you will feel) like mini muffins, pineapple on sticks and constant refilling of iced water.
L'occitane products, which we stole 50 bottles of!
Breakfast is wonderful, so much variety and they offer to wrap things up for you so you can eat it later, so you won't need to buy lunch!
Beach bags, pillows, turn down service, housekeeping morning and night!
There's so much more thats complimentary, which really adds up when you're at a resort when you have to pay for all this individually.

I would recommend Ferraro's for dinner, it's well priced, in a stunning location and delicious.

I couldn't recommend this resort more highly and have urged all my friends to go.

Don't forget, if you're going to Maui you're probably in for a big splurge anyway, so spend a few extra dollars and head for the best of the best, you won't regret it!

Room Tip: Book a mountainside room and receive your upgrade to the garden room, which is lovely and all you ne...

I can't say enough how wonderful everything was! We stayed here for one week for our honeymoon and it was well worth the money! We had originally chosen to stay at Grand Wailea, but after reading reviews on TA we changed it to the Four Seasons. We booked an ocean view room and it was gorgeous! We had a large patio which initially we were disappointed with as we were expecting a balcony, however it was huge and very private with a table and chair set & 2 lounge chairs! Also received a bottle of champagne upon arrival to welcome us.

Service throughout the resort was exceptional.

Home away from home? Not really. This hotel is more like the dream mansion you never had (well, at least 99% of us mortals) with all the hotel's staff your own personal aides. The location is wonderful, with stunning white sand beaches and a magnificent view of Lanai, and the restaurants (particularly the Italian) are just to die for.
Be warned...you may not want to check out!

We booked the Four Seasons Maui due to the incredible reviews on Tripadvisor. We stayed 5 days this past Memorial Day Weekend. Initially I was scouring for other alternatives as I was reluctant to spend the money, but it’s so worth the extra expense.

We booked through What a Hotel, which if you are lucky based on availability you might get an upgrade. You do get breakfast to the value of $85 per day included and a F&B voucher for $100 which is a great deal if you happen to stay a few days like us.

Be warned that when you book the Garden View you might be looking at a big tree and car port rather than what would be classified as a garden. When we checked into the Garden room we did feel a little let down so promptly called the front desk, the lady was very gracious with trying to find us a better room. As the hotel was complete in the next category of partial ocean view, we were offered an upgrade to a suite with a spectacular Ocean View for just $60 a night. A great deal, and really made a world of difference. Each evening we could watch the sun go down right from our balcony. Amazing. Thank you!

As for service. There is nothing to compare to the level of service that you will receive at the Four Seasons. If you are lounging by the pool, your glass will never be empty of ice cold water. During the day the staff will offer you rice krispie cakes, to ice popsicles, to shaved ice.

Tip on grabbing the best spot to lie in the sun:
If you want to get a spot near the serenity pool, in a shady cabana or front row at the ocean you will have to claim your spot early especially if the hotel is full capacity. It’s first come, first served and most of the prime spots will be taken by 9am. Quick tip is to claim your spot early. The staff will hold your spot for an hour whilst you go grab breakfast. In the evening the serenity pool is less crowded and a great place to watch the sunset, albeit for maybe a few drunken people who have perhaps had too many pina colada’s in the sun during the day.

As for activities/ restaurants.
Snorkel/ scuba: You can snorkel and scuba right in front of the hotel. I was lucky to spot a big green turtle near the rocks to the left. Head out in the morning before the trade winds make the waters pretty choppy. We also drove to a little cove south of Big Beach were there is an abundance of tropical fish.

Paddleboard/ Kayaks: The hotel rents the boards/ kayaks out right on the beach in front of the hotel. First timer, no worries. The staff will give you brief instruction and off you go.

Beaches: Head south to Big Beach. Again, best to get there early before the tradewinds stop by.

Restaurants: The best restaurants in Wailea are at the Four Seasons. Ferraro was our favourite. If you have a car, 40 minutes drive away is Mama’s Fishhouse just past Pa’ia, it’s worth the drive. The restaurant is on the secluded Mama’s beach. All locally caught seafood on the Hawaiian inspired menu. Mama’s was such a special place that my boyfriend proposed to me on the beach there. A big surprise.

Enjoy!

Room Tip: I'd recommend and Ocean View if you can afford it.

I hate you, Four Seasons Maui. Because of you, I've tried out Four Seasons hotel properties all around the world, in 4 different continents, and have, since, always been disappointed. It's truly incredible how nothing compares. Las Vegas, Singapore, Bangkok, Boston, Koh Samui, etc. NON compared. FS Maui is truly one of the best hotels I've ever had the honor to stay in and am already looking forward to return. I stayed here over a year ago, but still remember the fresh tuna, the venison, the pools, the service, etc. It was magnificent...

Room Tip: Was upgraded to a ocean view room, which was wonderful. Although the ocean is still quite far away...
