Upgraded to a one bedroom suite which was very much appreciated! I had requested extra towels and pillows via the Marriott app, all requested items were in the suite when we got there! Marriott App very useful to check-in and get an alert when your room is ready. Front Desk staff very helpful and personable, all staff we encountered during our staff were nice. Complimentary breakfast was perfect for our group of 2 adults and 3 children. Our grandkids appreciated the pool as it was shallow and the younger ones liked being able to walk in the pool on their own. Well kept property both inside and out, decor relaxing. Not a fan of paid parking though appreciated ample parking stalls. Will definitely be returning every time I need to be on Maui!

Room Tip: Ocean view if you can afford is spectacular as this property sits on a hillside looking down toward the ocean.

Was in Maui for 10 days for partly pleasure and business for my husband and was very pleased that we chose this hotel. One bedroom with a kitchen and living room and a balcony which overlooked the garden. Staff at the hotel could not have been nicer. Great breakfast in the morning with a lot of choices and not the standard breakfast that you find at some hotels. I wish they were left the coffee out a lot later they take the coffee down at 9:30 or 9 when breakfast is over but other than that it was fine. Hotel was clean very well kept up pool area ground hot tub was very very nice and the barbecue and picnic area if that's what you want to call it was very nice it was great to get together with friends and be able to cook out what we wanted to eat and just sit around and talk and relax. Would definitely stay there again and would highly recommended

We really enjoyed our stay at the Residence in. It's a new property, about 2 years old. The staff was friendly and the property was clean and well kept. Every room has a balcony/lanai with varied view (parking lot, or pool/partial ocean). The rooms were clean and comfortable. It was nice to have sitting space and a well appointed kitchenette. Included breakfast buffet was adequate. The pool bar does make a good pina colada. You can grill food in the gas grills by the pool.
As far as location, it's has pretty great access to Wailea beaches, with the ones off the big resorts within walking distance. They have a complimentary shuttle that picks up and drops off in the area. For food, there is the Shops and Monkeypod, though I ate most of my meals in Kihei.

I highly recommend staying at this place if you want to be in Wailea.

The property is recently built and all amenities are clean and new.
Terrific for families.

Daily free breakfast was good: eggs, bacon/ beef patty/or ham (alternate meat each day). Hot and cold cereals, buns and bagels, fruit, etc
Kitchenette was nice. Our unit did not have an oven; had the cooktop only.
Barbeques are available near the tennis court so we did not miss an oven too much.
Laundry is available in lower level; convenient; $3 per load.
Pool was sufficient size and usually not crowded.
We rented a car, but also used the hotel shuttle a few times because it was so easily available.

As others have said, this hotel is great for families. A fair number of middle aged/ retired folks as well.
Wouldn't recommend for young couples or folks wanting a party or a really lively atmosphere.
Very nice in the evenings and quiet after kids' bedtimes. The downstairs bar usually had small groups having drinks and watching sports. Pool grounds were nicely lit in the evenings with torches and a big patio fire.

We had a wonderful stay. I want to particularly thank Reid at the front desk for his great personality and helpfulness getting us a great room. While staying here I did a significant amount of walking around looking at other hotels in the Wailea area, and it boggles the mind why someone would prefer the Grand Wailea or Marriott Wailea over the Residence Inn .. aside from being ocean front. They are more crowded, more expensive, smaller rooms, and no free breakfast. We never had an issue finding available chairs by the pool. Each morning, we just drove 5 min to one of the local beaches, parked our umbrella and chairs in the sand and hung out part of the day. We rented the chairs, umbrella and snorkel great from the on site Expedia rep which was convenient, but not necessarily the least expensive option. We really enjoyed the breakfast setting and food, although I would suggest to the hotel to think about other creative egg options rather than scrambled.

Room Tip: We enjoyed a bottom floor walk out lanai easy access to the pool and dining.
