This is a small zoo. If you set your expectations appropriately you'll have a great time. When we were there the animals were all very active.

For a small city, this zoo is Big Time. Lots of walking space. Plenty of animals and in a nice easy layout. One small train like ride for the little ones. Seals. Elephants. Cattle. And more. Nice afternoon visit for all.

Great activity for the kids or the animal-loving adults! Not only are they adding more creatures and, finally, expanding habitats for the comfort of the animals, but they also have educational activities and many goodies in the cafeteria and gift shop for you to enjoy! Wheelchair/stroller accessible. Personally, I would prefer better habitats for the animals and more attention to their natural environments and needs in the extreme temperatures (elephants outside in the snow, pumas without water in 100 degree weather), but that is for your discretion and, of course, I don’t know how busy the employees are at any given time, so I can’t say that that’s a constant. What is, however, is that the cafeteria isn’t very well-kept. Tables are always sticky and there are bits of napkin or straw wrappers and crumbs on the floor. Most of the time the employees are chatting and not caring much about the aesthetics and cleanliness aside from the occasional quick sweep of sections of the floor. However, if you can overlook any of that, it’s definitely a great family activity!

Poorly run cold place.
Elephants reflect years or neglect and bodies are injured from abuse and neglect.

Dont give this place your money.

Boo at the zoo is not what it was years ago. Not worth the money to get in! You get one candy like a laffy taffy or smarty from 10-12 stations that you stop at to get a card stamped. Then to turn in your card, you wait over an hour for your prize to be mini bubbles. Just ridiculous. Long long line for the train that we are currently waiting in still at 9 pm. The carousel line was just as bad. Decorations aren't even great. Not worth your time, sanity, or money.

Poorly done

P.s. It's a shame that at the register beside me, butonwood would not honor a military discount because this is an "event". How embarrassing, you should be ashamed.
