“Very nice property with welcoming owners, but decor was a little bit Grandma”

We loved walking in the woods around this property, which the owners have maintained very well. The animals they keep were lovely, and we enjoyed interacting with them.

Our only issue was about the decor in our room. I'll preface this part by saying that we may not be the target demographic for this B&B (we are a pair of 20-something lesbians).

We stayed in the Garden Suite, where the decor was Dolores Umbridge meets Grandma's cottage in the woods. There were "precious moments" figurines and painted plates with children and kittens, there was a lot of pink in the room, etc. Kind of a turn-off on a romantic weekend away!

The room did have a great two-person Jacuzzi under a skylight.

Room Tip: Garden Suite not great for couples, at least not young ones

We found this place via a google search because we were struggling to get family friendly accommodation on the north coast of the Olympic Pensinsula. What a great find. Lovely for a quiet get away but also lots of fun for the kids - a beautiful pond where we fed the trout, a paddock with friendly deer and loads of space to expore. We heard coyotes at night and Chris told us tales of otters and bald eagles which help themselves to his trout!
The cottage was delightful (we stayed in Whimsical Bear) and Chris and Jodie had though about every need - coffee in the fridge, ice in the freezer, fully equipped kitchen and smellies in the bathroom (the kids loved the jacuzzi bath). There are even bath robes.
It is also in a good location for all the attractions of that north coast - and there are many.
We stayed two nights but could have stayed longer.

Each of the cabins is nestled into the surrounding 20 acres. The kids loved the location as it afforded numerous opportunities for safely exploring in the nearby forest. There were fish, deer, reindeer, and lots of other things for the kids (and adults to see). Word has it that there is even a bear living nearby. For the parents, the cabin offered a complete vacation site with close proximity to the sites in and around Olympic National Park. The two-room cabin comes complete with everything that you might need, including a full size washer & dryer adjacent to the master bedroom. The fully stocked kitchen provided ample room for the preparation of several dinners. Although the rooms have satellite TV, we found ourselves doing so many other things that we didn't even turn it on. The comfy fire kept the room warm - and we used it even in August as it was cool outside. A home away from home, a Hidden Haven was truly a great place to spend a few days!

Room Tip: loved the decor and location of the Whimsical Bear

We stayed two nights in July, and could not have been happier. Chris and Jodi are excellent hosts, friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, bright, and had a steam shower which was perfect after a day of hiking on Hurricane Ridge. My wife is an animal lover, and was overjoyed feeding the deer and any other piece of wildlife that moved. I would recommend this for couples and families. And their pooch is very friendly too! My only recommendation is one that we have encountered often at hotels and B&Bs. When you have a better room empty for the night, upgrade your guests. It will cost you nothing, as the room would lie vacant, but we can assure you that it impresses the guests right from the beginning.

They should rename it "hidden heaven." We came there to spend a couple of days and it just so happened the first day was my birthday. Chris and Jody heard about this so they added chocolates and sparkeling cider to all the rest of the wonderful supplies we found waiting for us in the cabin. If I wanted to, I could not come up with a single thing that could have make the cabin and its surroundings more perfectly charming. We arrived late, were warmly greeted and felt, the next morning, as though we had woken up in an enchanted land. It was difficult for me to leave the cabin, the pond, the little creek and the woodland path to go for the usual sight seeing in the area. Our daughter fell in love with the deer and the reindeer, but most especially with Ruby, the regal and obliging sheep dog who escorted us on our meander through the woods and down by the creek one evening. Our privacy at the cabin was absolute, and yet if we went down to the main house, one of our hosts was always on hand to chat, give directions to local attractions or hand out bread for us to feed the animals. The cabin was immaculate and the decore very pleasing. It was a wonderful and peaceful place to get away from life's rat race and we would love to go back and stay longer.
