My wife and I enjoyed delicious lunches many times before at TAAJ PALACE, so today we decided to try their dinners, and were absolutely glad we did! In addition to offering a huge array of appetizers, soups, curries, and desserts, the restaurant features a huge variety of tandoori meat and vegetarian entrees – it was really hard to make decisions. Luckily for us, today they were serving Dinner Buffet specials, so we could sample lots of different foods and flavors. We selected Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo, Matter Paneer (cheese and peas in a creamy curry sauce), Vegetable Biryani (rice), Yellow Tadka Dal (simmered yellow lentils), and our personal tasty favorite – Butter Chicken (boneless Tandoori chicken in a creamy tomato sauce). The meats and vegetables were all mouth-watering, tender and delicious! Then for desserts we chose Badamee Kheer (rice and almond pudding), Gulab Jamun (pastry balls in cardamom and honey syrup), and Gajar Halwa (sweet carrots, milk and nuts). Wow, all were absolutely fantastic dishes. The friendly and energetic staff were constantly attentive, eager to serve beverages (teas, juices, beer, wine, etc.), clear empty dishes, and give helpful food suggestions (and translations). The atmosphere is charming and authentic – including a gift shop of Indian dresses and accessories. Fantastic food, great prices, and we highly recommended it.

There was alot of variety, good side sauces, the buffet selection was primarily chicken with one beef meatball dish. The preparation was good, hoever not very highly seasoned, perhaps they are catering to a milder palate, ifyou like the heat typically associated with Indian food, use the red sauce and add it liberally to your plate.

Faithful Indian fare for the American palate. Honestly, for sub-continent joints that aren't totally vegetarian, I can recite every menu item from memory. All your faves are here, and were all very well prepared. And frankly, my family loves it all. A few things to mention: meats were very generous for our entrees; service was friendlier and less formal than many similar Indian places I've been to on this continent; and, their Kingfisher beer was very fresh (think about it--it has to go half way around the world). If you are a Naan lover, their Bread Basket for $7.99 was a nice cross-section of all their offerings, and plenty for your dinner party. Satisfaction guaranteed for this Maharaja...

Food was great. We arrived at a rather late hour in the evening. The host was gracious and welcoming. The decor is dated but we didnt bother as much.

We loved all the offerings - the mushroom makhani in particular was delightful.
