We loved our stay in the park. We saw deer, foxes and Eagles. Walked amazing trails and also did a few day trips into Minneapolis. It has been a great place to set a basecamp for a summer vacation

Very nice little one hour hike along the Pot Hole Trail in the Interstate Park on the Eastern side of St. Croix River, just opposite Taylor's Falls. Great views and fascinating rock formations.

We camped with a travel trailer at the South campground. We were very glad we sacrificed the electric hookups in favor of being away from the highway. We loved the hiking (pothole trail was a favorite) and amazing scenery.

Park was close to St Croix and Taylor falls. Both towns offer reasonably priced (and varied) activities. We loved the drive in (Taylor Falls) and Fawn Doe Rosa animal park.

Overall, this park was well maintained and kept us busy. Yes, bugs were bad. Yes, there are pit toilets. However, for us, those are acceptable trade offs to be close to such amazing geologic formations and views. I would recommend an outer edge South campground site.

Nice hiking. You can walk on the National Ice Age Trail and start at the Western Terminus of the trail. The trail has beautiful over views of the St Croix River. You will see potholes that were created by the glacier. They are fascinating. The first mile of the trail can be challenging with lots of elevation changes but certainly doable for most. The camping areas are very nice although we did not spend time camping.

My wife and I enjoyed a 2.5 mile round trip hike along the Silvercreek Trail. Heavy mosquitoes, but nicely shaded with a pretty, if smaller, waterfall as the turn around point. Paid $11 for the day pass which seems steep but we like our parks.
