Nothing great, nothing terrible.
The good: don't often see empanadas on a menu, but they have them and they're good. The rum-based margarita is really tasty, as is the paloma.
The not-so-good: the guacamole is very basic. Asked for extra cilantro and - surprise! - a place called "Cilantro" doesn't have cilantro. At all. Uhhh... oh and don't expect any complimentary salsa to go with your complimentary chips. That's right - chips, but no salsa. But you CAN purchase some, of course.
Overall, the food was OK. And if the owners are reading, remind your workers - especially if he's the only one working, handling food and checks and drinks - that he should wear gloves when digging into your bucket of chips, visible from the kitchen, as he's filling baskets.

For me this wasn't a standout experience but there was nothing wrong with it. I probably would try a number of other spots before returning if at all, but if you enjoy Mexican food in particular this might be a good choice for you.

I had dinner here with with the family on a weekend in October when Salem was very busy. The food is straightforward Mexican affair with fresh tastes, good service at fairly reasonable prices. The food is definitely better than the average Mexican fare and we received very attentive service for a large party on a crowded night.

Cilantro's food is authentic, fresh and homemade. Two of our favorites are the empanadas and the fresh made guacamole. The restaurant is small, cozy and very inviting. The owner is always willing to give suggestions and also at explaining the various dishes.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Their use of spices sets it apart from the ordinary Mexican restaurant. The service was efficient and professional, yet very friendly. I would definitely return.
