Nice Marriott. Staff were very helpful. Small restaurant & bar although with all of the options on the Riverwalk you wouldn't eat at a hotel restaurant anyway. Nice buffet at the Holiday Inn next door. Lots to do in San Antonio. Visit the Alamo and the Spanish Missions, Riverwalk boat tours, Mexican market, the Pearl, museums & more Seems very safe at night. Great place to spend a vacation

Room Tip: High floor overlooking the city.

Our room was not ready until an hour after the scheduled check in time.

It had an odd smell. After check over the room, we found a cigar in a dresser drawer and a ketchhup like stain on the wall. There was even trash around on the floor.

We needed extra pillows and were told, repeatedly, that they would be right up. After three calls and a couple of hours, they finally showed up.

The toilet was leaking water all over the floor.

]ot a pleasant experience and the trip felt like a waste of time. We left a day early due to all the frustration

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel

We only had a one night stay, yet it was a very pleasant stay. Each and every member of the staff was very nice. Each one made sure to greet us accordingly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We really liked the quick access to the Riverwalk, regardless of which door we went through.

The location of this hotel was wonderful...on the Riverwalk. Our room was large, modern and clean. The beds were comfortable and so were the pillows. We appreciated having a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room too. Good sized bathroom. The front desk attendants were very friendly and helpful with all of the questions that we had for them. The lobby was modern and welcoming. The nicest touch of all was that they put chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of wine in our room for our wedding anniversary that we mentioned to them in passing. Yet, I never appreciate hotels putting bottles of water in your room with a price tag on them. Very tacky especially when the cost was $5 per bottle. Another negative point for us was the Bistro. It wasn't a restaurant, cafe and certainly not a bistro. It looked more like a cafeteria and the menu was very limited. They did have wine and beer but you couldn't get any until 5 pm. It seemed that most of the other big hotels had decent restaurants and bars so I'm not sure what happened here. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and we had a good time.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located on the Riverwalk, but it’s not on the “main drag,” so it’s much quieter at the hotel. However, restaurants, shopping, and the Alamo are just a short walk away. So, we will definitely stay here again!

They are doing road construction outside the hotel, so you will want to make certain your GPS is up-to-date, if you are driving. Due to the construction, the vehicle entrance to the hotel is also quite small and easily missed. So, you will want to pay close attention.

While I would agree that the hotel parking is expensive, $35/day, the staff was also very helpful and advised us of a public parking garage a block away. It was only $10/day. I believe you can also self park in the garage for the hotel next door for less than $35/day.
