Owner description: People absolutely love our unique Hop-On Hop-Off tour route! We start out in Alamo Plaza and immediately give you the double decker view of the beautiful Alamo. From there we head north towards the San Antonio Museum of Art, the Pearl Brewery Complex, the River Walk, King William Historic District and much much more. And of course you are free to hop off and explore at any of our 18 stops. If you do, just go back to where we dropped you off and wait for our next bus to arrive. We have a frequency of every 20 minutes, all day, every day, from 8:40am to 5:30pm. Our open-top double decker tours also enable you to discover our city's renowned monuments, check out its best shopping areas, or locate one of its top-class restaurants after a long day spent sightseeing.

After viewing the Alamo- we walked across the street to start the tour on the "Latino Express" with Robert- he could not have been more enthusiastic or fun! Made seeing his city interesting. We went through the full loop the first time around. We did stop at The Pearl Brewery area- a really neat place. Several very fine restaurants, purchased some jewelry from the fair trade store located there. Beautiful park like common area. We ran out of time to see the Marketplace- but it looked like a very fun, colorful experience. Shops and restaurants throughout. The tour buses do make their last pick ups around 5-530 so I would recommend starting early in the day and planning on spending a few hours to explore the stops that interest you. They state that buses come around every 20 minutes and our experience was just that. We rode downstairs due to the heat- but upstairs was available to view the city. I was a little hesitant to do this based on some reviews, but after doing it- I would really recommend it. I hope that you have the good fortune to have Robert as your driver. Muchas Gracias Roberto!

Thank Kristi L

Don't get me wrong this was a great experience, it was fun, was our first time getting on a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus tour. If you are visiting San Antonio and want to visit sites, such as the missions, etc., this Bus will not go there. We bought the Bus Tour Pass and included a few Museums, such as the Buckhorn Museum (worth it) and Riverwalk Tour. You save about $3-$5 on each ticket when you bundle it, we saved about $20 (got an extra discount on the bus tour too). The Bus Hop takes you from the Alamo to Pearl Brewery (Emma Hotel), to Augie's BBQ (worth it), to Hemisphere Park, Mexican History Market, Buckhorn Museum, and Fernado Church and back. The issue is that the Bus was not a/c and it was hot and humid. It runs every 30min, but found that some drivers were much slower than others, and there was no clear spot on where the bus was going to pick you up. No schedule, we would have to ask the bus driver where they pickup at and when they would be back roughly. We had at some spots for more than 30min, that at that point we walked the 2 blocks to the other site. I will say the driver we had Derrick was great, funny, knowledgeable, he made the experience better. The other drivers just no sense of humor, nothing, just bland. Derrick gets an A+ in my books.

It cost us about $75 plus taxes for the bus, that included tickets to the Buckhorn Museum and Riverboat Tour. Even with these tickets, just don't think it was still worth it. If you have never done it before and want to try it then great. Just be aware that if you plan on going to the Tower of Americas the bus stop is not close to the Towers, for people that cannot walk, you will have to walk through Hemisphere Park, which smelled like raw sewage and was very dirty. Lots of construction currently.

Now if you plan on wanting to see the Alamo, Museums, Missions, Botanical Gardens and Japanese Tea Garden then I recommend the Public Transport VIA (for tourist) it cost $2.75 for an all day pass. The VIA bus line can be picked up near the Alamo which is located within steps of the all the hotels on the Riverwalk. The bus runs every 30mins and if you want to see all the missions. I would suggest going to the last stop, to see the first mission, since it is very small and the bus waits like 30 before taking off again. So, you can see that mission get on the bus and go to the next. Not bad for $2.75. This bus does not take you to Augie BBQ, the Pearl Brewery, but you can catch a River taxi to these places and save vs. taking the Hop Bus.

Derrick was great and would recommend him as your driver if you are going to experience it. It was much more fun with him, he was very knowledgeable, and gave great advice where to eat, where the locals eat.

A must do while in San Antonio. Very informative. Easy off/on access for all major attractions. Hope you are fortunate enough to have Kat as your driver. In addition to being very friendly and funny, she was extremely knowledgeable and provided very interesting stories and information along the way. She was the best by far the 2 days we were there.

Great way to see the city. Our driver Kat was very knowledgeable and a very friendly person. She was our driver on our first tour of the morning and after hopping off and on, she was our last driver. She remembered us from the morning.
