You have to visit the Plaza if you come to Sante Fe. A vibrant place with stores ( some a bit pricey) food trucks, restaurants, ethnic entertainment in the square and the beautiful jewelry for sale. The whole Sante Fe experience.

We love to grab a drink at one of the establishments overlooking the plaza. It's always happening and the eclectic crowd is quite interesting and entertaining. Lots of different languages can be heard and everyone typically mingles in a friendly and energetic manner.
It’s really busy on the weekend. Be prepared to have a tough time finding parking. Really nice shopping but extremely expensive.
I was in Santa Fe for a month and I could not stay away from the Plaza. It's a great place to shop, eat, talk to people, listen to music and generally enjoy yourself. I frequented the Native American artists along the museum wall and bought as many pieces of turquoise and silver as I could. There were multiple arts and craft shows the month I was in Santa Fe and they were in and around the Plaza, especially the huge Indian Market. I enjoyed getting to know the artists and where they were from. If you're in a tourist-y shop, the turquoise you buy may not be real turquoise but there are many excellent vendors of fine jewelry and western wear. Weather in September was warm during the days and cool at night, very comfortable most all the time.
The famous plaza. A place that provides for all kind of experiences. Indian with cheap jewelleries. Overly expensive shops. Nice 'alternative' places to shop, east and drink
The plaza is exactly what you would expect - plenty of restaurants and shops, a lovely outdoor area with live music and activity, some outdoor artisans and food stands, and plenty of people enjoying beautiful Santa Fe. I'm not big on shopping, but there were some unique jewelry vendors and little art shops that I enjoyed browsing. Though there are many people, everyone is relaxed, so the general feel is welcoming. Some of the shops were very high-priced, but I suppose what they offer is well-worth it.
