Together with our son and daughter-in-law, we recently spent three nights at Casa de la Cuma B&B. The hosts could not have been more gracious. They provided great maps and other resources, answers to our many travel questions, and passes to local museums. A common room offered a continuous supply of cold bottled water, coffee and tea, granola bars, and fresh homemade cookies. Each morning's breakfast was varied and delicious. Rooms are not large but are perfectly adequate and are attractive and comfortable--and the garden provided a peaceful haven in which to rest, read, or just watch the hummingbirds. Although not in the very heart of the historic district, Casa de la Cuma is easy walking distance to most attractions--close enough and yet far enough away.

Casa Cuma is perfectly situated, about a 5 minute walk from restaurants, shopping, gallery crawling, and museums on The Plaza. Any closer and noise might have been an issue so I'll call the location perfect! Shaan and Colleen are very friendly and knowledgable and anticipated all of our needs. The room (and particularly the bed) was very comfortable. Food was amazing. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We stayed at the Casa Cuma B& B in Santa Fe, NM for four nights in July 2011. During our stay, we found the accommodations to be very comfortable and the owners to be gracious hosts.

We stayed in the Santa Fe Suite. The room was clean, beautifully decorated with Southwestern art, and contained all the essentials (shampoo, hairdryer, iron, etc). The Santa Fe Suite is very large. The “bedroom” area had a free-standing closet, desk, wet bar, and king-size bed. There was also a “living room” area with pullout sofa, coffee table, and flat screen television. The only amenity this room lacks is an attractive outdoor sitting area. The other rooms at Casa Cuma have a small porch with chairs overlooking the hot tub/patio area. The Santa Fe Suite’s outdoor sitting area is located steps from the parking lot.

Breakfasts are served outside on the patio and consist of coffee and juices, fresh fruit, and a hot entrée. The food was tasty, plentiful, and hearty. So much so, we didn’t need more than a light snack for lunch. They also had complimentary bottled water, yogurt, and cereals in the lobby.

Shaan and Colleen couldn’t be nicer. They provided guests with a detailed map of recommended sights and restaurants. They also loaned us a CD narrative for our scenic drive to Taos (highly recommended).

Casa Cuma is conveniently located within a short walk of the Plaza. The neighborhood is safe and pleasant.

Mid-afternoon, we would return to the property to sit on the patio and quietly read or make plans for the following day. Watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the cool summer breezes was so peaceful and relaxing…we didn’t want to leave!

In conclusion, Casa Cuma B&B has all the charm and comforts of home, but without the hustle bustle and noise of our city life. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to fellow travelers.

This was a return trip to the Casa Cuma for Indian Market in Santa Fe. We had another wonderful stay and even found improvements since our last stay, if that were possible!
Each room now has a private entrance/ seating balcony, which we sat out on every evening looking over the mountains and beautiful garden. There is also now an indoor eating/realxing area, where we were able to use the microwave, fridge & icemaker to prepare food rather than eat out every night.
Colleen's breakfasts were again superb and set us all up for the day. The hospitality offered by Shaan & Colleen was fantastic as always.
I can strongly recommend this centrally located B&B to any discerning traveller.
We will be returning!

We first learned about Casa Cuma from BedandBreakfast.com, and knew it was one of the top rated B&Bs in the area. When we went on their website and looked at all the room choices, I knew I had to stay in the Corazon room as it was so tastefully decorated in punched tin from Mexico. This is something that I also collect but have never seen a headboard like this! The room and bathroom were lovely! Corazon means "heart" in English which is a perfect name for this room! Enough said...

The rest of the Casa Cuma experience was equally wonderful. Shaan and Colleen are the perfect hosts. We met Shaan at the reception area. He immediately gave us something cold to drink and then explained the vast amenities of the b&b. We were shown to our room and then shown the al fresco breakfast area which overlooks a beautiful vista. Shaan explained how to use the hot tub which was a treat to use after a full day of travel and sightseeing.

The breakfasts at this place were a treat. Collen prepared a gourmet hot breakfast daily and made adjustments for everyone's dietary restrictions...and sweetly! The outside dining was great. It was a great opportunity to share travel experiences with the other guests as well as Colleen and Shaan. The b&b owners had great anecdotes especially Colleen's first hand knowledge and stories about Georgia O'Keeffe.

Santa Fe was so much fun! We took the tour of the town and the area. Our guide was very informative and we saw areas of the town that we would never have found on our own. What was really neat about Santa Fe was both the afternoon and evening entertainment in the square. My husband and I joined in the dancing with the rest of the crowd. People were having fun and getting into the live music which genre changed in every session. The restaurant suggestions from Colleen and Shaan were excellent. We ate well in Santa Fe.

As an art lover, my favorite experience was the Georgia O'Keeffe museum. It was valuable to watch the two introductory movies before going through. It gave the museum's perspective and related all the artwork in the museum. Sure I wouldn't have minded to see more of O'Keeffe's paintings, but I learned so much from the movies and saw the other works more clearly as a result.

Casa Cuma and Santa Fe were both wonderful experiences. They were highlights of our New Mexico vacation.

Room Tip: Look at the photos of the rooms. Being in a room that you love before you arrive help with the vacation experience.
