With 4 fine museums on Museum Hill you need to break if you are visiting more than one and the cafe is perfect. The salads all sound appetizing but I had a Tuna Melt and it was the best I have EVER had.

My husband and I stopped in at 2:00 pm today and were seated outside as we requested. There were a goodly number of empty tables. We requested drinks and dessert and were told we would have to order inside. We left and won't be back. (Two nearby customers were being shown the dessert tray as we exited). We have eaten lunch at the cafe on most every trip we have made to Museum Hill the last six years. The food ranges from adequate to excellent (special menus related to exhibitions), but we expect courteous service--whatever we are ordering. I could understand somewhat if it had been the height of a lunch rush—it wasn’t.

This is a lovely spot for a lunch between museum strolls. We elected to sit outdoors and the breeze offset the flies. My wife had something that the menu identified as "The Best Chicken Soup" and she said she couldn't argue with that! It came with a half sandwich and she opted for grilled turkey; also very much to her liking. I got a Patty Melt and it was tasty. The place was busy but that did not affect service, which was very good. This place is a good idea that saves the multiple attractions in the area the trouble of devoting space to food service. Nice idea, nicely executed.

With several museums and the botanic garden at Museum Hill, this restaurant is ideally situated for a leisurely survey. The weather was sunny and warm, but not too hot, during our visit, so it was perfect for patio dining.
Menu is less than ambitious, but reasonably well executed. Service is pleasant, but seems that the staff can become overwhelmed during rush periods.

The location is the draw here--the restaurant has a very pleasant setting on Museum Hill next to several of Santa Fe's most important museums. The food is adequate but far from distinguished (in Santa Fe, you'll find many more enticing options in terms of food quality). The service is generally better than adequate, but it can get overwhelmed. It is not unusual to have to wait a while to get the check, for example. If you are sightseeing and want to eat on the spot, this is not a bad choice. If you want to make every meal count in Santa Fe, I'd look elsewhere (downtown) for more options.
