Review of parkside Candy

parkside Candy
Ranked #4 of 21 Dessert in Buffalo
Cuisines: American
Description: This lunch counter in an authentic 1920s candy store is not to be missed. Food is fine, but the atmosphere is so unchanged that you feel like you've traveled back in time. Maybe it's an "attraction" not a "restaurant" but any visitor to Buffalo should go there.

I never realized how hard it was to find sugar free chocolate. Parkside Candy was the only place where I was able to find any sugar free chocolate for Easter gifts. I was impressed the variety that they offer. I also picked up sponge candy (family LOVES it from here) and some flavored suckers. There is something for everyone.

Tip: If you are just looking for some chocolates, go the Tonawanda or Blasdel location. If you are looking for a step back in time and ice cream, then definitely go the Main St location - park behind the building or on the street. Great place to get ice cream in the summer time.

It’s a very cool older building with creeping floors-it makes it part of the experience.
We snagged a few boxes of sponge candy, the best in Buffalo. Also tried a few other chocolate items, none of them disappointed.

Went for ice cream after dinner nearby. We were all quite full so we shared the grandmas special, its $12.99 [ we had a $5 off coupon ] its 5 scoops of your choice of ice cream and toppings, peanuts and walnuts and whip cream. The waitress made our ice cream and got it all right. Would recommend it! We looked around but didnt purchase any candy. We were the only customers at 7pm. They close at 8.

My wife and I had no idea about the lost world that we would enter when we visited Parkside Candy. We were driving down Main Street and decided to stop in for a look around. The surprise was the beautifully restored ice cream shop from the 1920's when we stepped in. It was like walking into the past.
Our ice cram dishes were great as well as the Parkside specialty of chocolate sponge candy.
If you are visiting Buffalo, this cannot be missed.

Stepping into this place is like dropping into the 50’s. It’s so quaint. Smells like chocolate and sugar. Full of yummy candy of all different sorts (including sponge candy). We went for ice cream, and there were quite a few options outside of the usual boring hot fudge Sunday. Everything was delicious, and the staff were so kind.
