Noticed this place earlier on arrival and lots of lovely smells coming from there tempted us to try to get a table without reservation as arrived this day. We had an upstairs table - quite cosy with lots of table and very noisy for us as a couple - I think this is more for groups of friends to catch up. The starter we shared - Pork Meatball (Albondigas) and then hubby had chicken enchiladas and I had Beef Tostada with black and rice. Lovely Margueritte cocktail for me. Bill came to 55.65 dollars

Had a group of nine for dinner last night. Dinner was average but they were able to fit in a large table upstairs for us.

Stopped here on the Neighborhood Food Tour and had a delicious short rib marinated and served in a sweet sauce.

Off the main drag in downtown Newport, this 10-yr old restaurant is filled with intimate nooks and crannies, and multiple small bars. Not a bad seat in the place. The food is a modern mash on Tax-Mex. The appetizer and entree selections are hot and inviting without scalding the tastebuds. Each item is an exploration in different and wonderful flavors. Ryan at the bar mixes drinks with the best. His Cosmopolitan was expertly mixed, and served. A true pro. We’ll return.

I had short rib enchiladas and the Mexican Street Corn whuch were bith excellent. They ambiance was great out on the porch with 2 guitarists playing live.
They were out of Mexican Coke and Pineapple Juice that went in an alcoholic drink I tried to order.
